Can’t they just do a “high top Romeo” with a Motor Patrol toe? Wouldn’t that be a Chelsea boot essentially lol

Yes, but Chris thinks he would have to build a whole new last and he doesn’t want to do that… or at least that’s what he is telling me.

I wish that Wesco would make a higher version of the Romeo, like a Wesco Bludstone boot. It would be all that I wear.

That’s exactly what I’ve been asking Chris for! A Chelsea boot

I have heard Chelsea boots described as "the man bun for your feet". I may disagree, but the reference isn't any less funny.

i’m about to buy my second pair of romeos. i’ve destroyed my first pair cosmetically. but man they are the beat show i’ve ever owned

Alright… I’m gonna post a picture rocking a man bun AND some Chelsea’s and you guys can decide how “welsh-tosser” I look... [emoji23]

Lol I wore Chelsea boots today… but have no hope of a man bun, or even a full head of hair ever again...

I've got a pair of Blundstones; they're fine for what they are, but I'm sure Wesco would do a much more impressive version.
They're definitely not Beatles-esque Chelsea boots.

Great build. Please do share pics as they take on wear.

@Giles any interest in getting Wesco to do some navy or light blue shell cordovan something? I asked Chris about making me some chukka boots and he just said they don't have that kind of leather.

Decided to try my luck with wax staining some Natural Essex Wescos that I picked up a while ago and I figured someone here might be interested in how it worked out. Below is the Before pictures after approximately one month of steady wear back and forth from the office. I had heard amazing things about the patina that natural veg tanned boots would pick up over time, but given the blue collar roots of my job the boots were attracting a lot of negative attention when compared to my normal black jobmasters. I decided that I needed to speed things up
As you can see, they look great but at this rate it is going to take a year to really weather these into a more mellow color. Since Essex leather is Aniline finished I decided that it would be interesting to do a beeswax stain to see if that would darken the leather naturally without adding a tint to the finished product- the goal was still boots that had the natural veg tan leather look. To be sure the wax was applied evenly and absorbed by the aniline surface I heated the boots in a 120 degree oven and applied a thin layer by hand. I am pretty happy with the results.
