Wallets, Chains, and Reins

^ Exactly @neph93 It is from PTC, the minimalist wallet.
Any ideas on how to get the indigo out of the wallet? I tried wiping it out with a damp cloth. I could get some of the indigo out, but still a substantial amount is left.

Looks great! Where is it from?

Thanks very much!

It might be easier to embrace the patina. I think it looks rad! Plus it’s yours, not another one like it in the world!!!

You can't
I was trying to break that to him gently

Yeah… it’s there now. Saddle soap will remove quite a lot of it, but that will also turn the wallet another colour, and will still not remove all of it.
To be fair, getting veg tan fugged up by indigo is sort of why vegtan exists, or at least why it is of interest to people around here.

Teranishi Studio went to great lengths to replicate the effect that @the246guy's wallet developed naturally.

I was thinking how to get a patina like this: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3812.msg292278#msg292278
and a patina like this: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3812.msg292139#msg292139Is that a patina from Indigo? Looks not or?

Ok then it makes sense. My expectation is that the wallet turns dark brown and not indigo. If it turns dark brown like that I'm all in and won't worry about cleaning it.

Over time, the blue will indeed turn onto dark brown an black. But it takes a long time and doesn’t happen in a vacuum. You just have to use it as Giles says.

This one has been in service for the better part of 10 years. I love it more and more all the time.

@zhivago That looks also like the Patina through the Indigo. Definitely looks epic. My wallet is just a year old and I'm sure that it is going to go through the same transition.

So, I ordered a wallet from After Midnight that arrived today, and it's very beautifully made, but it was pretty obvious to me once I put it in my pocket that the long wallet / lanyard thing is maybe not for me. Kind of a sad realization, as I was pretty psyched to check it out. I guess it's just a reminder to me that if I get a gut feeling that something doesn't seem very me, that instinct is right about 99% of the time haha…
I'd been using a Tanner card holder for years, and I loved it so much that I ended up ordering a backup when I thought at one point that they were going to be discontinued (now it seems not the case, but hey, that's good news IMO). ANYWAY, my point — after deciding that the AM is not my thing, I figured I'd retire my old Tanner and bust out the new one. The evo is pretty striking:
I'm going to post the After Midnight in buy/sell sometime this week. If anyone's interested, ping me — it's a left pocket carry Medium Concealed Trucker in veg tan, brass hardware + lanyard.

After 10 years my old OGL wallet is falling apart. I'm looking for recommendations for a 6" wallet with coin pocket and lots of room for cards, nothing too long though. It seems like there's mainly long biker wallets, card holders or bifolds without coin pockets these days. I would prefer natural veg tan and to serve its purpose to store money it should not cost a fortune. Otherwise I'd be all over the IH mid wallet or a nice flat Head one. Thanks a lot for any hint, I'm not up to date anymore

I've been bouncing back and forth lately between picking up a newer larger wallet to carry all the things, or just goinging minimal and having a clip for some cash and a couple cards. It's easy during fall/winter because I always have coat pockets to put a wallet in, but during summer it's tough.

I have been carrying a back a lot lately, even for quick little trips where I won't need much. I just really despise having things in my pants pockets.

@Chap that would be exactly my choice, but is unfortunately out of the price range I'm willing to go
