Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
-
Hi there.
We will likely make it again (but no guarantees). However we have no 14ib in stock atm, so we are re-weaving as I type….
If you want an email notification when/if we restock, please do this:

Will contemplate 14oz black cord as a Plan B:

Oh and will set a notification up ….

Is there any possibility that the 21oz denim cap could be re done?

@pjw241142 We're taking orders for the 526J-142ib at present so will initiate a production run with the newly woven denim @Giles mentioned in the coming weeks

Guessing that's a no
I guess my post was halfway between a suggestion and a question, so in the spirit of the thread… I think you should make an XHS 1955.
I think it unlikely. It wasn’t that long ago that G was considering nixxing the whole cut. It is almost as marginal as the IH-436. Shame though as the only reason I haven’t tried the 1955 is due to the amount of 21oz I already own. I’d take the plunge if it came in XHS or UHR.
@neph93 What waist size are you these days. I may have a waist size 34 1955 UHR sitting in my closet that I would donate to you. New unworn.

That's kind of a bummer — why do you think he's not into it? Production woes? Seems like just from a sellability (guess that's not a word? haha) it'd be a no-brainer.

Because the factory that made them no longer exists…..And whilst I agree that they would sell well, we have a multitude of production bottlenecks, and making sure we have a decent supply of core items and factories to make them takes an enormous amount of Haraki's time. Not having 21oz jeans, or denim shirts or UHF's would be a game-changer, not having caps is not....
Here's just one example, since I have been working with Haraki, we have had 4 mills that weave our duck close down, each time that happens, we have a decision; stop making duck, or find a new weaver that can weave to our specs....

Could Papa Nui make the hats?
-
That all makes sense! Plenty of cool denim caps out there — they just ain't no 21oz IH

I always wondered why the older duck feels thicker than the new duck… it all makes sense now.
I have a 9oz papa cap that is pretty nice, and I can wear it on the hottest summer days....def not 21oz IH

I really am enjoying the sheen and hand of the projectile loom woven denim a particular item I recently acquired has… (I am not going to mention so as not to cause any more jealousy) I am really sorry about all the inquiries the crew is getting about that particular item now. the denim is so shiny and smooth. It feels like polyester and I love the feel of it.
I don't know if there is a minimum amount you need to make of non-selvege denim. But I would love a pair of double indigo non selvedge 25 oz XHS. This would probably be the ultimate, final level of shiny soft hand denim that is possible.
I would love something like a pair of double front 822 made with this denim. The outseam could be felled so it wouldn't matter if they were selvedge or not. 23 oz would work too if 25 XHS was too heavy. Or maybe that alpaca lined full-length deck coat made from this projectile loom denim too. Just a thought….
I definitely want an indigo denim version of this coat. I don't care how much it costs. I'd become a gigalo of I had to

I hate presenting an idea that I saw another brand do, but Black Bear Brand has some horsehide N-1s and they are damn sexy. I'm surprised I have not seen this idea before, it's a good one (it seems Schott has leather N-1s too). The slash pockets work really well for leather.
They had several different varieties but I like this one most: https://blackbearbrand.com/black-bear-brand-factory-store/naturalarmy-horsehide-n1-deck-jacket-made-to-order
Anyway, Iron Heart's deck jacket pattern in leather I think would look great and would be different from the other designs that cleave more to the original pattern. Could retain the alpaca lining (including pockets) and collar and the leather would be very wind-resistant. An excellent cold-weather garment this would be.

Protective riding gear with pockets for armor. Maybe SST denim with dyneema (or something w/ similar abrasion resistance) as the weft. And either leather or canvas/whipcord/denim jacket w/ dyneema and armor pockets for the upper body.

We are sampling this with Simmons Bilt already, I'm hoping first sample should be done pretty soon. I sent Steve my IH N1 to base it off

Nice, @Alex !
