IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
I've been looking at that jacket for a while now, ordered it monday, sent tuesday, received this morning, as usual IH staff and UPS sending orders with a rocket ahah.
Jacket is a beauty, funny how no matter how good your detailed pictures are, it's way waaaay more impressive once the product is in hands.
Because the name is 526Lod i thought it would be the exact same 526L but overdyed but general impression is totally different, the od is less rigid than the 526L but it's softer and thicker at the same, i'm glad i finally pulled the trigger on that one, many thanks to @Bailey to find me the one with longer arms, measurements are just puuurfect -

About 6ish months of semi regular wear anywhere between 3-7 days a week. Moved into a new house with it and done a lot of dog walking and such with a sling bag for her treats. Done a lot of sweating in it and debating doing a wash, but I also want to keep it going. It doesn’t smell or anything, just been pretty active in it. Not sure if that’s me trying to justify a wash or not.
-
@hgering27 looks sick I would hold off too long as it doesn’t smell
I’ve been wearing the IHSH-33-IND to work it’s been a hot so been sweating like crazy in it big salt patch on the back so washing it once a week . -
@Jcaz6996 I am so conflicted. I want to see what a wash would do, but I also just want to keep it going through the summer. I sit in my own office at work and keep the AC on blast so it allows me to wear it almost year round.
-
Sounds like you ought to compromise and sort of gentle hand wash it instead of putting it in the washer. Cold water, a little bit of soap, very little agitation, drip dry laid flat…
-
@Filthy yeah that might be the move. I moved recently and now my washing machine is top load, and I am pretty certain it messed up my 555sbg, so moving forward I'll likely just do gentle handwashing anyway, at least until I get a new machine.
-
Yeah I don't think it'll hurt.
-
Here’s another pic I snagged today to better show some arm development

Within the last couple of months, I've been hand-washing my jeans, shirts, and jackets in a cheap steel tub in the backyard. Cold water, some Dawn dish detergent, and a whole lot of love. Just rubbing the Dawn into the material with my hands. Then I let it sit submerged for 20 minutes before rinsing it off and hang-drying.
It took me too long to learn how to wash my IH stuff. Before, it was always the washing machine and a whole lotta prayer. Now, I'm not so scared of getting stains.
I highly recommend you give hand-washing a try!
Big thanks to Filthy for washing advice. Guy has his own thread about his process in here somewhere. Love ya, Mike!

If anyone has the link to that washing advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I used to just throw in the wash but my last machine was a front load, the new one is a top load, and I threw in my 555-sbg and I am pretty confident something happened in the wash because there are some really odd markings so think I might go back to tub washing
edit: didnt realize I had basically posted that info already
-
@Kasi interesting I haven't heard that approach before… I am just pushing off washing at this point because I really don't want to mess up this jacket, it's my favorite IH piece I have
-
@Kasi yeah that sounds like it might be the move, maybe do it over the upcoming long weekend. If I do I will post results
-
@AdamJ hmm I am so conflicted… mainly because what happened to my 555sbg I would definitely not consider marbling. I dont know what happened to be honest, but it's just making me reluctant to using my current washer for denim again. I used to not care at all, but this has thrown me off.
