IHSW-10-BLK - 14oz Ultra Heavyweight Loopwheel Cotton Zip Up Hoodie - Black
-
The American giant hoodie I had was pretty nice, but the weight felt way more than one ounce difference. Iron Heart fleece is best, and by far the heaviest I’ve experienced.
Quoted for truth.
Finally decided to go for it as it seems the AG hoodie is deteriorating faster since this post was made. At first I thought the fabric weight was more similar but after comparing more closely it's much more tightly woven, with a much harder face, and a good bit more windproof. The fit on me is much better in the IH as well with the AG being cut more boxy and longer in the sleeves and body. Both size large, but the AG is all stretched out to 24.25/19.5 while the new IH is new at 23.0/19.0.
At first I was thinking the only thing the AG really had over the IH was the reinforced elbows, but now I'm realizing it's all those extra seams that are starting to fall apart and making it look ratty. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another AG, it's a good value relatively speaking, but the IH hoodie is so nice, and I'm a sucker for dual zip. I also very much appreciate the slimmer sleeves and normal sized hood. If I could dream one feature to add, it would be to have internal drop pockets like on some other hoodies, and similar to the IH modified type 3s.

Could anyone compare to a Reigning champ midweight? Can’t seem to find details on the fabric weight for RC
-
@iammortalcombat By the looks of it, RC sweats come in 360, 400 & 500gsm. I would stab a guess at their midweight being the 400gsm which is near enough 14oz. Not a perfect comparison as they are both woven differently, but I would say weight wise they will feel the same.

Fair enough and thanks for the replay @Chesson. Will hold off until the RC needs replacing and out my money towards some other IH kit. Thanks!

@pechelman, thanks for the spot. We make new threads for items that will reappear in seasonal releases so that the collections display in full. Looks like we forgot to lock and redirect one of those when we launched. I have merged the two threads now.

Picked up an L during the sale. Was on the fence between medium and large. I'm happy.
FWIW, I'm 5'10", 170lbs. Wear a large in UHFs

Super fit. The materials great isn’t it?! I’ve been missing wearing mine over summer.
So great!

Hey, in the interest of helping people out with their sizing. After some thought, and the opportunity to try on a medium at Self Edge, I decided to make the switch.

Eliot+black hoodie=Mr. Robot vibes
Nailed the fit

I have similar dimensions to you. I'm 5'10", 155lbs and prefer the medium as well. I also take an L on UHF. Because the hoodies are a stretchy fabric, and I prefer a trimmer fit, M all the way.
While the L looked fine you on, I think the M is the better fit.
