IHSH-62-BLK - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Black
-
It's a twill, which is what both denim. and serge are. I possibly should not have used the term "denim", but yes, one of the trains of thought is that Denim originated from the term Serge de Nimes…..
A nice article her:

Cool. Only reason I asked is because the diagonal-looking pattern goes up to the left, not the right. What am I mistaking this for?

You’re right, it does. I suspect that the outward face of the shirt is actually the reverse of the fabric. Might be worth checking with Haraki-san, @Giles ?
-
well this is so interesting–such an iconic fabric to be learning about all these years later!
I think you've cracked the case, @neph93 ; what else could it possibly be? When I compare the inside and outside fabric, the twill is far more pronounced on the putative reverse / exterior than it is on the face/interior, so perhaps that is the rationale for this–definitely more texture and fade potential this way.
Great observation, @gunar

I suppose it could be that this was LHT all along and H didn’t think to mention it. It wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened. I think the very fine face of the inside of the shirt supports my initial theory.
However, I just checked my sulphur dyed olive serge western and that is the same. Rougher exterior, with a [emoji3485] twill pattern looking almost like micro wales, and a finer interior going [emoji3486]. So this seems to be a feature of Haraki-san’s 12oz serge whichever it is.

I was only going to buy the BLK. That same day got a job offer and they matched my asking salary. Shit my pants went back to the website and added the IND with copper snap upgrades.

Fit check. New to Iron Heart shirts, so still dialing the online ordering process in. This is the IHSH-62-BLK in XL. For what it’s worth, I am 6’3” and 220 lbs. and I prefer tailored fits.
How does this fit look to everyone? Also, I am looking to order the IHSH-232-RED before it’s sold out. Given how this 62 fits, which size would you suggest I order in the 232?
Thanks all!

Also new to this forum and can’t figure out how to post two images in the same thread. Here’s the front!

Seems all good to me ! Good fit !

@ironheart111 first off, that black Wabash looks great on you. Your height takes away the issue many of us have with the longer body, and the chest and sleeves fit spot on.
Regarding the UHF, trust the measurements on the site. The IHUK crew is meticulous about measuring. For what it’s worth, I have the xl in the indigo Wabash and my UHF size is xl too. I could actually size down in the Wabash if needed to a large but not in the Buffalo check.
-
@jordanscollected helpful! In comparing the sizing on the XL Wabash to the XL Buffalo check on their site, they’re similar except that the Buffalo check is an inch smaller in the chest and 1.5 inches longer in the sleeve. Do you notice these differences in your XL’s of both? A bit worried that if I size up to XXL in the Buffalo check, the sleeves and shoulders will be too big. So am leaning towards XL in Buffalo check, with hopes that it’s not too tight in the chest.
-
My advice to you is to stick with the xl, but to ask the crew to send you the largest chest measurement they have available in the xl. There are slight variations in equal sizes.
My Wabash has much longer sleeves than my Buffalo check, so even though we are speaking of the same fabric comparisons, the different shirt numbers make it a moot point.

Just some sleeve evo

@weftyarn hell yeah! Awesome
Progress! How many wears? -
@Heavy_blue Thanks, mate! I’d guess around 120-150 wear days, but I don’t really have a clue to be honest
