@brock if it's so girly than maybe she should be helping you model it, with that new girly 4WD of hers too.

ok–they come out great even with the 10.
Thanks for getting back on that...good to know. -
Took the Town Ace down to the DMV for title, Registration and plates. Here’s a few shots from the drive in.
The homelessness problem in Oregon has gotten much worse over the years… here’s part of a pretty large camp that I drove by on the way in.

Most of those are outstandingly great images, the last one is really really sad and upsetting.
When I was last in Portland and Austin and LA, I was appalled by the number of homeless people/camps I saw. I don't want to sound preachy or judgemental (because we have our fair share of homeless in UK too), but to my mind, this simply should not happen on this scale in a first-world country….
I don't profess to know the complex reasons behind homelessness, but I am sure a contributory factor is that we gear young guys up to go to war, they do really nasty stuff, see really nasty stuff and then we provide no real support, counselling or help to reintegrate to "normal" society upon their return.
-
I agree 100% it is very sad and upsetting! And also getting much worse unfortunately.
Portland just recently passed a measure decriminalizing all illegal drugs, dropping all possession fines to $100. Which will undoubtedly and unfortunately attract all the surrounding people who ‘seek out’ that lifestyle… the city is making efforts to supply somewhat decent “camps” but it’s attempts are futile at best..
On a more cheerful note: I picked up a few pieces of camping gear and we are going to clean up my dads old Airstream this weekend and planning on taking it out next weekend.. so looking forward to that!

The homeless situation gets worse every year, but you only notice it semi-slowly when its one or two tents going up a day at a time.
But can you imagine if you were asleep or in a coma for the last ten years and then woke up to this?
You would be in shock and asking what the hell has happened? -
This weekend was spent working on plumbing, cleaning and restoring parts of my parents old 1966 Airstream. I’ll get some pictures of it later when it’s a bit put back together…
Today, Daniel and I finished flashing the skylights for the Asylum Spirits.
Working in the Mad Red
Here’s a couple shots of Dan in the Jacket
these are the re purposed sky lights that we picked up from our friends mansion…

@Brock - the important thing to ask… do you enjoy it more than the railroad life?
-
@Brock those are some of the best pics on this thread. I love the angle grinder shot… I love that you working in the thing.
Not sure if that’s true but thank you. I like the flying metal in the first angle grinder shot..
Why wouldn’t I work in it??Appfaff I definitely do enjoy it more than the Railroad. Although there are a few small things that I miss about the railroad too. All in all it was a great trade off for family time.

The Jacket smells like Fir now… [emoji319]
We cut a pretty large tree for the food cart Pod.
I’ll post pictures after it’s decorated…Also spotted these festive little Amanita Muscaria while searching for the tree.
There’s some good Santa Clause folklore surrounding these curious Fungi.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s been a busy week! Turns out the Airstream needs a lot more work after digging into it so we weren’t able to camp. Hopefully soon. I’m currently restoring the old Herh vent LaDaue cylinder lifters. A good vent seal is necessary for winter camping… especially when you can’t get the central heater functioning properly...
My wife’s birthday was on the 10th
We drove the town Ace through this very festive private driveway
I built out a new closet for the boys room with reclaimed wood from a building my dad owns. It was fun and challenging. You can see the mad red making an appearance.
We’re currently staying the night at Timberline Lodge for my dads birthday. Hope everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying the holiday season as best as they can!
