No issues getting the over my ankle. They stretch to get them on, but they do not lose shape with wear….I have some that are maybe 9 months old and they look almost identical to a pair I picked up a month ago.
I have a particular question. Since 9 month old vs new is not much different, @Giles do you put these socks in the dryer or hang dry? I bought my first pair. After a few wears, if I find I like them a lot, likely buy a weeks worth or so. Thanks.

This is pretty timely.
After about 7 years of wear rotating through about 6 pair, my first set of darn toughs have worn through the foot yesterday.
Interested to try these and can report back on some honest comparison if desired/permitted.My biggest issue with socks is keeping my feet warm and dry as most cotton and synthetics trap too much moisture. I guess my feet sweat a lot

Please do. I wear only the IH socks as I find them warm comfortable and hard wearing (and dry), but I look forward to trying these some day.

These are my favorite socks that I've experienced to date. They feel like soft, thick cotton socks but are very hard-wearing. I should note that I prefer cotton socks to wool for most applications (I think darn tough may be merino). I tend to wear the heels of socks out quickly because I walk around the house sock-footed a lot and these ones don't yet show evidence of wear, which is unprecedented for me.

In other breaking news, I am wearing a pair of these at the moment. They come in some nice colours and feel amazingly substantial. If we stock them, it will be the first time they will have been sold outside of Japan.
The copy confuses more than informs, but I think it says they are good and thick….
