Your Top 5
-
@Filthy you've got some brutal songs there, bud
Pity on the person who uses that list to make a playlist
-
I'll do two Top 5's because Tool deserves it's own.
TOOL:
1 - Aenema
2 - Lateralus
3 - Fear Inoculum
4 - 10,000 Days
5 - UndertowNot Tool top 5:
1 - Mastodon - Crack the Skye
2 - Metallica - And Justice for All
3 - A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
4 - Lamb of God - Wrath
5 - Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled- A lot of honorable mentions on this list.
-
@BloodnThunder very much a man after my own heart. Love how you had a TOOL top 5 and still snuck a perfect circle album in there

@LewisStonehouse I've got a fair bit of bias, Maynard & Co. put out way too much good music not to be included on all the lists.

@Joberwocky Right!? What a great flick. So unsettling and cold.
-
Absolutely @SKT . Solid horror list
-
Evige blumenkraft! I do love Ott, @Fadez

Some of these answers may change every time you ask, but here’s my answers as of right now:
Tool - Fear Inoculum
Radiohead - OK Computer
Deftones - Koi No Yokan / Ohms (I really can’t decide between the two)
Queens of the Stone Age - debut self titled album
The Strokes - Is This It
Guns N’ Roses - Appetite for DestructionThat’s five, right? I suck at math.
VERY honorable mentions:
Stone Temple Pilots - Purple
The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth
Tame Impala - LonerismAnd last but not least, and this is an album that basically no one has heard that definitely belongs in my top five-ish but I don’t know which album to pull off the list:
Tilts - self titled
I cannot say enough good things about this album. One of the very best rock albums to be released in the last 20 years. Criminally unheard. Starts strong and just keeps getting better with every song.

@riffblaster general I’m a newbie here, never realised I was rubbing shoulders with a musical hero!
Seriously though. Jane Doe was a formative experience for me, I was about 14 when it released and it blew me away. Seen you guys a few times over the years in London, always a wonderful experience. Anyways, big thanks and love!
And thanks for connecting the dots for me @Giles. I love the image of Paula, unaware of what’s about to happen, in the pit for Converge
thanks for saying that! Giles can attest though… I'm a nerd.

I love this thread and I’m discovering so much new stuff to dig in to from everyone’s lists.
@xtcclassic Really enjoyed your list and of course I had to find and listen to Tilts. Damn fine rock n roll! Thanks giving me some new music to enjoy. Tame Impala too. My list has become “lists”. Tough to narrow it down

When the mood strikes me, Tame Impala us a great listen
