Hi all,
I just wanted to say I had a GREAT time meeting with you all of you that could join on the Zoom call today, was fantastic to finally put some names to faces, quite literally! (Reuben, Lewis, Jason, Mike, Scott, Baker, & the lawyer (sorry I can't remember all the names!)
You are all splendid folks and I couldn't be happier than to be a part of this community. I can't wait for the next virtual meetup, and I hope to be able to attend the 20th anniversary meetup to see you all in person.
Thanks again for the warm and welcoming chat and speak to you all soon!

The real reason that I did not join last night was because beer was involved.
And not in the way you are all leaping to conclusions about….
We had organised with Fallen Acorn to have a couple of kegs at the party. They use DHL for shipping.
It was due to arrive on Friday, which was then delayed to 10:30 on Saturday. Annoying but not the end of the world.
At 10:30 @Alex got a message saying it had been delayed until 10:44. That did not happen.
At about 12:00 it was showing as "next delivery", but nothing arrived, at about 14:00 Alex started to call them and call and call them.
At about 18:00 he was told that the delivery had been attempted at 10:15, Which considering we were all there before 10:00 was complete and utter bullshit.
@AdamC was out and about, so was asked to buy beer and get it to us quickly. In the meantime Alex rented a Zip Car (rentals by the hour in London), drove to a nearby Majestic wine store and bought a shit load of beer and ice, and got some big plastic rubble buckets from a nearby hardware store.
So from about 15:00 I was not really focussing on what I should have been focussing on, but worrying about what a monument fuck up a party without beer was going to be.
Props to Alex and the crew for sitting shit out…..

I am pretty sure we will. @Alex will post a brief update in the pop-up thread at some point. But very briefly, out goal was to break even, our main aim was to get our stuff in front of people who have never seen the stuff or simply wont buy online.
We broke even by halfway through Thurs.
Lots and lots of new customers including people who were just passing by. We had one lovely lady come in yesterday afternoon/early evening. She popped her head around the door and asked if it was a private party. When she was told no and that it was a shop and she could come in, she expressed surprise because " everybody was looking so happy and laughy and obviously enjoying themselves". She left with an Ultra Heavy Flannel.
First 2 sales yesterday were Trophy leather jackets, those sales simple would not have happened online.
I basically did the square root of fuck-all, so I have not borne the brunt of the logistical and planning nightmare. But doing it again, definitely gets my vote.
