Advice for first pair of jeans
-
Looking to venture away from the flannels I have bought and get a new pair of jeans. What is your favourite and any advice regarding weight? Leaning towards the 777 slim tapered in indigo but open to suggestions.

It looks like IHUK just got a new shipment of 25oz XHS 777 cut in recently… You can't go wrong with those. Look at all the recent Indigo Invitational (who were wearing Iron Heart) winners and you'll see that they were wearing 25oz denim, even the 1st place winner was

Quickly falling in love with 21oz will give you the fuel to power thru the 25oz break in later

My favorite fades come from the XHS 25oz. The easiest to wear are the 21oz. My honorable mentions are the 16oz slubby and 14iB. You really can’t go wrong with any choice. They’re all amazing in their own way. I’d take into consideration your climate and how well you tolerate summer/winter. The 21oz are great year round denims. I can’t hang with XHS in the summer anymore. The lighter weight is great year round too. You just might be in long Johns earlier in winter. I feel like we’ve yet to see a denim that doesn’t fade and evolve beautifully if given the proper time and effort of wearing them. Happy first IH jeans!

Like I mentioned I am leaning towards the 777S the only turn off is the low rise. Anyone that has them… is it really low rise? Like when you bend over your arse crack hangs out. Or are they decent?

I have the 777S-21 and they do indeed have a low rise. If you don’t size correctly, butts can show. However if you’re concerned with the cut. Measure your best fitting pair of pants and see how that lines up with the core cuts. The 555 and 888 may be better options for you depending on measurements.

25oz is definitely something that takes time to break in. Especially in a slim cut where you will feel it more everyday. 21oz will likely still feel more thick and dense than most other denim you have worn off the shelf, but breaks in and gives way very easily. Just take note of how much room you actually need and want in your thigh area ad not just the knee and opening area.
Good luck!

This depends a lot on your body shape. If you have a flat/small butt then you're good if you have a chunky butt, your'll show butt crack.

Thin legs but I have an arse. Luckily been blessed with with a bubble butt. Gonna try the 555 or 888 in the Shinyaka denim

Good call. Sounds like you’re built for the 555. It has a roomy seat and waist, and slim legs.
