IH-555-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo
-
First day of wearing these and it's been hell. Can barely button them up, putting on my boots made me feel like I was wearing an Arthritis Suit and i'm going commando and sleeping in them to stretch these bastards out as they are too tight with pants. I really hope it's all worth it in the end.

@BulletPattern glad to hear you’re having the proper XHS experience. Just gotta suck it up for a week or so then you’ll be rolling, and you’ll be so glad you did in about 6 months

At the cost of these I'm fully invested in this for the long haul. Such a beautiful fabric.

For those who cares and find it interesting:

Jeans are finally softening up nicely and I can nearly tie my shoelaces. I'm glad i sized down, as much as it's been a journey the fit is now really lovely.

Looks like you are in for great fades! Looks awesome!

Just got this pair in yesterday. I've been wearing 555s for years but this if my first go at the 25oz… wow these things are no joke! Hoping my legs do end up battered and bruised by the end of the break in period!
-
Best to soak them first…
Gives a faster break in.
Giving them a hot soak before wearing also takes out the remaining shrinkage. The XHS denim is lightly sanforized and you'll get between a half-inch and inch of inseam shrinkage with that soak. That will theoretically give you crisper honeycomb fades over the lifespan of the jean, though I'm not sure how much it matters in practice.
