IHJ-110-OLV - 12oz Moleskin Modified Type III Jacket - Olive

Three reasons I could think of why this one is better than the whipcord:
1. This has a deeper and richer olive color.
2. The whipcord's color gets "pale" after washing a few times whereas this one probably will preserve its color.
3. This is a softer and more comfortable material. -
I don't think @sabergirl is talking about the whipcord version. I think she refers to this….

@Giles I was referring to @Paul9221's post
Trying to figure out if there's room in my closet for this and the olive whipcord version, they look very similar.
But to also comment on the corduroy vs moleskin debate (I own a type III corduroy in brown): I can see how my first two points would apply, maybe not my third point since corduroy is cozy as hell.

No worries!

This thing is killer and definitely on my must have list!

This is the one I can’t wait to see live in a few days. Really interested in how this will feel.

Can't be long now…

@Paul9221 The Moleskin from IH is very high quality. It has an incomparable heftiness to softness ratio that no other fabric I own compares to.
It molds to your body after many wears, but not so much that it loses its rigidity. It also forms its own unique patina that is like no other fabric.
Regarding warmth, I agree with Ann that it is warm, but I wouldn't worry about it being too warm in your coastal climate.
Lastly, I would say that wearing the moleskin type III over a tee would be hella comfortable much sooner than a denim version of the same make.
If I remember, I'll wear my black cpo tomorrow and add some closeup pics that may be a help.
@Brock anything to add about your navy CPO? have you been getting it into rotation?
