IH-777S-SLB - 16oz Slubby Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo

I'll be blunt - I'm not much of a slub person. But got notice that a local stockist was getting this in, and had to go check it out in person (local IH stockists are new to me too.)
I walked out with a pair. Absolutely stoked on them. They're quite airy and light compared to the 21oz, which is to be expected. Otherwise, they're fitting well enough I suspect they'll be getting the bulk of my attention in terms of wear time.
Those wash photos make me even more glad I picked up a pair.
I'm not much of a slub person myself but Im still considering picking up a pair of these in the future so I appreciate the input. Too much intensity in a slubby fabric can be a bit too much visually for me and I feel like these are right on the brink of that. I've looked at as many pics as I can of this fabric but the only way for me to truly tell will be to see them in person.

These are still quite intense to my eyes, but I do feel like they calm down a little when wearing them vs. laying flat.
I find a lot of construction details on other slubby denim to be a turn off for me. At that price point, there shouldn't be rips in stitching, or curly pockets. The IH have none of those flaws, even after looking over two pairs in my size in person. It's the quality we expect from IH, but it's another reason I finally purchased a pair of slubby denim. Though, I fully anticipate my 21oz will still get the majority of my wear time, and still be my travel pair of denim.

First of all, thank you Ross and Bailey for the assistance with these! They're weirdly comfortable. Don't think I've ever had a pair this soft out of the box before. Almost feels a bit guilty haha.. Good choice for summer
They are excellent summer jeans. and wait until they get a weeks wear. Ridiculously comfortable.

Had the pleasure of finally visiting BRUND in Copenhagen yesterday. My first IH stockist outside of Tokyo. Amazing service and knowledge. Thanks for the great talk and for these wonderful soft pairs which I’m crazy about! Agreeing with you folks saying they are comfy straight out of the box.
-
They are too nice at Brund. Spent too much money there the last year [emoji23]
Looks great on you. The SLB is like sweat pants comfy.
Cheers

Haha, sounds like money well spent, Peter. I regret not emptying my account - what a palace Brund is.
Can’t wait to see more pics on here of how they develop. Cheers -
Awesome! Slubby is def a nice piece of denim! Enjoy them mate

I think I'm going to give in and finally cop a pair of these. I love slubby fabrics but sometimes there can be a fine line between a nice slubby denim with tons of depth, texture and character and one thats too intense visually and headache inducing. I've looked at so many pics of this fabric and I've gotten impressions of both depending on the lighting, camera, etc…
But the 777 cut is one of my faves, measurements look great on these, and the 16oz weight and loose weave are appealing to me for my climate. This is a pair that could worn year round. Plus the fabric looks so good in the pics where the slub doesn't come across as too intense.

I think you’ll find these to be non-headache inducing. And you’re absolutely right about wearability.

Thanks Neph. I was thinking/hoping the same.

Like @neph93 said this one doesn’t have that total crazy slubbness.. it’s really nice! The feeling of the fabric is really nice, soft but full of texture and the loose weave makes it a true piece of art. Normally i don’t like a slubby fabric but this one was a no brainer!

Can anyone comment on the leg twist on this fabric? Do they come with leg twist right out of the bag or does that only happen after washing? I've owned LHT denim before so I can deal with some leg twist but I was curious how crazy the leg twist is on these slubbys. Looking at the pics of Giles pair it doesn't seem to be too bad.
-
@manufc10 mine came with a twisted leg out of the bag, but nothing to be not cool, leg twist is a very underrated thing in mine opinion and just the way the denim behaves. Embrace it i would say

Unless all the character is sucked out of a denim by skewing it massively post weave, it will be prone to some skew (if it is left or right hand twill, that is). Different batches of the same denim will skew differently, so will jeans sewn on different sewing machines. Don’t fight it, celebrate it (or stick with broken twill or plain weave)…..

I thank you all for the input. I'm definitely copping a pair now just a matter of when.
@Giles is there a restock scheduled in the pipeline yet?
