Nah, just cut some wood for my grandpa. He has a huge garden with figs, Rosemary, Apple & Cherry trees… Had to also cut some old furniture and stuff. The deal was he cooks I do the wood work. It was a good deal for us both
The wood of course lands in the oven,
where we do the „after work“ part. Sauna also involved…
No better way to relax after a week of sitting in front of the screen all day. -
Hi I took these today at work trying to keep busy in these dark times. I’m X-Raying a piece of nomex it holds the emergency inflatable life raft in place on a helicopter.

@Oaktavia Cheers bud.

Thinking about my Dad today. He taught me how to swing a hammer, he gave me a folding rule and how to trust it, and taught me how to construct something positive. Because I was stubborn and rebellious, he taught me to keep my fingers out of trouble. Lessons in carpentry, lessons in life.

Shovelling manure at my mate's farm. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it etc.

Tackling a much procrastinated part of the house. Uncovered a good amount of rot but finally nearing the point where I can lay down some plywood and get to tiling.
Went at it through the night and am completely fried; doing my best @choco

DIY amateur hour update. Didn’t have much for free time past couple weeks so took a personal day to buy and lay down the plywood.
measure twice cut once unfortunately has not been my formula. More like measure 8 times cut once, lay it down… Nope! Trim it back, lay it down… -
@flannel-slut hell yeah man. You’re doing it. Half the battle is taking the first step. The rest you just learn as you go.
I started on the floor in my kitchen and quickly got in over my head as soon as all the floor joists were revealed and it was like walking on balance beams. Thank god for friends to point ya in the right direction.

@Mizmazzle fucking a man. Couldn’t agree more with committing to that first step (seems to be the case with most things in life). I want to take on my kitchen as well and this little bathroom has been an eye opener. No lie, I was thinking I got in over my head with the floor rot but slow and steady progress has been the approach.

Back on a good size project @ a waste water treatment plant. Treating exposed rebar on the clarifiers atm. Thankfully it’s windy but it’s still quite hot & horribly smelly. That’s my dad behind me in the green hi-vis. My turn to boss him around
Edited to add - wearing 777N’s
