For my money, the NHL has the best rulebook and officiating in professional sports. I love the sport already, and am grateful that the league for all its faults has not placed a damper on the sport and that games remain largely decided by the athletes and coaching staffs.
I don't think the NFL has improved at all with replays and feel that the influence of officiating and the rulebook on outcomes (deliberate or not) has gotten way, way worse since the Rozelle and even the Tagliabue eras.

I think my officiating outrage meter has been permanently disabled from watching a lot of college basketball. The difference game to game, home vs. away, early-game vs late-game and crew to crew is unbelievable and often infuriating. It would be nice for all sporting events to be officiated with machine like consistency but, you know, humans are involved.

@SKT true

@jordanscollected it was a good game

Detroit Lions. Every year hope springs eternal…we all know what happens next

@Jett129 haha yeah, it was like winning the Superbolwl for a Lions fan. I do feel like they’re building something now. I always liked Stanford, but they seemed so unstable during his tenure (not his fault!). I like Campbell…not sure if I will be biting any kneecaps
Before they signed Campbell I was hoping the Lions would get Saleh..he’s a Michigan man! Sauce is super good to. I live in NYC, so Jets are my cousins. Good luck!

For some unknown reason, I started following the Jets when the NFL first appeared on TV in the UK - which was 40 years ago - but I am in the ‘you can never change your’ team camp, which is why I still follow them, the Mets and the Knicks. Not much to celebrate over the years, but I have got to see the Jets play in London (v the Dolphins (W)), and the Mets twice (in NY v Giants (L) and in Philly (W)).

Lots of heartache in your family
Bears fan so I’m right there with you, except no cousins to worry about

@Bigdog at least you have the Fridge and the Superbowl shuffle! At least we can bond over our hate of the Packers Last year was ruff for you though…are you a fan a Fields or looking to draft a replacement?
-
@sweetlou yes 85 was fun! Fields all the way. It’s going to be a fun off season. I’m enjoying the Jets pursuit of Rogers
-
@Bigdog did you ever watch QB1 on Netflix? They followed Fields in his Senior year of HS. I’ve always rooted for him after that…(except when he was at Ohio State…sorry Buckeye fans)
-
@sweetlou your warming my heart for the teams you dislike

The Jets never seem to miss an opportunity to embarrass their fans. I hope Rogers either stays in Green Bay or hosts Jeopardy.
-
@Jett129 oh man, I typed Farve and had to replace it with Rogers.
-
@Jett129 waiting on Rogers, I would not wish him on my worst enemy.
