I'm really impressed by how nicely that turned out @Oaktavia . What kind of, and how much, bleach did you use? Dunked in bleach/water bath? I'd have been shitting my pants every single step along the way...
I filled up a bathtub with about two inches of water, just enough to fill and cover the coat. From there, I took a risk and dumped about half a gallon of chlorine based bleach. The water turned orange, then yellow after a few hours. I then took it to the washer and dryer to get this result. I somehow was pretty calm through the process.

Looks great

So killer. Your IH has been Kapital’d!

Kapital’d
I am so immersed in the IH world I had to look up the bleached Kapital stuff. Kind of surprised they sell bleached out denim. I know that too much bleach can eat away at the fibers but somehow mine came out still like Iron.
-
I hear ya. They sell a pretty wide variety, often offering stuff in both totally crispy/raw state and heavily faded. I'm usually not a fan of pre-distressed stuff, but Kapital does a good job of it for the most part. I like the idea of DIY-ing it much better.

@popvulture agreed, I wouldn't buy a predistressed one but I thoroughly enjoyed this experiment and love the change from dark to light indigo.

Was thinking about your wabby experiment today, @Oaktavia. Any updates on how it's looking? This seems like it would be an amazing painting smock.
I wore it the other day, pairs well with my IH red zip hoodie. I can post next time I wear it. It would be an amazing painting smock...I think I'll do just that next time I paint too.
What crafts were you thinking?

@pechelman which other thread?

here's the link to the last post. I made another one above it asking if anyone had tried dying a grey thermal before too. I still havent committed to doing it but feel like I should. My grey gets so little wear, but i don't want it to turn some poop brown color between the grey base and brick red i'd like to target.
