IHM-39-OLV - Military Serge A2 Deck Jacket - Olive
-
@Twistlock @endo you really don’t want to see/try this! Unless the sizing’s a disaster, you’ll need ridiculous levels of willpower to resist.
-
I can confirm the Jacket is hard to resist, but sizing is tricky... best for guys with short upper body but long arms and huge biceps

I bit the bullit and bought this jacket and it is one of the best decisions i have made.

Is the lining in the sleeves wool like the rest of the jacket or lined satin like in the N1..
-
@Rick62 wool like the rest of the jacket. Full description in first post.
-
@IrishHeart Thanks! I have read the full description, but it also says that the lining makes the jacket easy to take off and put on and that is usually stated if it has a satin lining. This and the lack of a photo of the inside sleeve left my curiosity unsatisfied.
-
@Rick62 understood. Always worth double checking when making a big investment in any item of clothing. It looks a great jacket so hope it meets your expectations.

The jacket arrived today and here are my thoughts.
I took size L, same size as my N1 jackets. It fits considerably less tight then my N1, which is a good thing.
What irritates me is the construction of the sleeves and the lining. I somehow have the feeling that I have excess material on the inside of my upper arm, just below the armpit. The is nothing there, but it somehow feels like it. After a few minutes of wear I hardly notice it anymore and expect it to go away with time.
To be hones I wasn't shure if I should keep it, but my wife said "Don't send it back, it looks good and you will regret it later" and who am I do act against her advice.
EDIT: Why is there no internal pocket? The chestpocket alone is to small for a cellphone or passport, an internal pocket would have been a nice quality of life feature.
The collar, well, the collar lacks fluffy alpaca wool, but it would be just another N1 if it wouldn't, I guess. Time to buy a scarf again.

Any chance someone can provide chest pocket dimensions?
-
@Marvo slightly too short for larger phones unfortunately (and no inside pocket). My Pixel 7 pro sticks out a good 2cm or so...
-
@Tobi Thanks, I’m still with the iphone 7, which would fit within but the flap may not do up.
-
@ARNC Thanks, exactly what I needed, a regular bifold (say 4x3 1/4) wallet fits. It’d be very unlike IH to make a useless pocket.

I’m on the fence, really because I don’t need one…but…here I am. I prefer a looser fit in these kind of jackets. I’m usually XL in UHF’s, mainly for the chest & armpit space as well as arm length but as I wear say, 31 in the 634 & 888’s, there’s plenty of UHF fabric around the waist. I’m mostly L in IH denim jackets though, as they fit snug over a UHF. I thought an M in an indigo N1 would fit, as it seemed on paper it would, but it looked silly on me & so tight at the armpits so actually settled on an XL because it simply allowed more movement & layering & the waist buttons pull it in. IH shoulders could always be a couple cm wider for my liking (however, a couple of my denims are perfect). The N1 arms might seem long at first but they’re a good length, helped by the inner cuff. If there is more armpit space on the A2, I’m an L for sure. Just sayin’, hope that helps.
Update. I’m now an owner of a large, size is snug & just right over an XL uhf (I’m 6’, 78kg, 43’ chest). Anything bulkier underneath & the arms would feel short on me. I do the waist adjusters up tight. It’s slightly less bulky/cozy than the n1, so n1 if I want warmer. Iphone 7 fits in chest pocket with flap closed. Highly recommended, can’t go wrong really but it helps to get the size right.
