IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd
-
I might be misrecollecting, but did the dying process change from previous runs? And if so, has this affected the amount the fabric will stretch after wearing? Want to get an idea if I should order same size, or size up if less stretching to be expected.
-
Just placed an order for the 33's today!
-
@Spencer35 these are incredible!! Hope you love them. They were my first pair of IHs….so damn comfy straight away!
-
@Mizmazzle Going to be my 3rd pair of 888's (also have the 634-21s), first over dyed pair. Excited to see how it ages over time!
-
@Spencer35 I bet you’ll dig ‘em!! I’m also an 888 devotee!! 888D, 888 XHS, 888 od.
-
@Mizmazzle can't really go wrong with any of the IH cuts, but the 888's just seem to be strike the perfect balance of all their offerings.
-
@Spencer35 100%.., roomy yet trim, high rise, clean hem, just enough thigh space to keep it just right.
-
I have a 888 pair of XHSiB and SB (non-fade). I love both, but the SB are definitely more comfortable because of the pliability and breathability. Are the 21od roughly the same fabric as the SB's?
If there are differences are the od's more/less breathable, pliable, soft... -
@lolnah I think pretty much any over dyed denim is a lot less breathable after the OD process.. basically the dye fills in any sort of “pores” in the weave and will stop air getting through. In regards to softness though, I have a few OD pieces in different weights and they are super soft straight out of the bag with no break in process.

Army - Two things:
- The 888 cut just fits right. I have a 666 and, comparatively, the rise is too low and thighs are too tight.
- The 21oz OD material seems a lot thicker than the 21oz SBG. Has anyone else noticed this?
thx.

Hard to tell from photos but is there any blue in these? Looks black and grey as they fade. Just wondering if appearance is different in person versus photos.
-
@bluemantra they are a fully constructed pair of indigo blue jeans that have had a black overdye process applied.. they fade to somewhere between blue, black and dark grey

I recently received a pair of these. My first pair of Iron Heart jeans. I wasn't experienced with the slightly higher rise and ordered a size too big. I also hemmed at purchase. Would these shrink in a hot wash and hot dryer cycle? Or should I try selling and go for the correct size?
Anyone's insight would be appreciated. I know it is not popular to put things in the dryer but I'm hoping someone has the experience with this particular material. Thanks in advance. -
@worsethanyou The above advice is 100% spot on. There is no shrinkage left in those jeans and your assumption may be correct to sell them.
We have had forum members have them tailored to fit and it may be an option for you.
