@Jett129 oh wow that is news to me! Everyone always raves about meat falling off the bone equaling the best cooked ribs. Good to know, thanks for the tidbit. Will certainly keep that in mind.
The only thing I go off by when it comes to bbq is if the meat is good on its own meaning even with minimal seasoning & it’s not dry, but soft & tender & no where near like chewing on bubble gum or leather.
-
@popvulture hopefully they are living the life. They seem to be doing very good bc their hours are Wed-Sat 11am - 3pm or until they’re sold out. They seem to sell out early most days Had to go on a random day off with no intentions of being in town just to check them out.
-
@RoxRocks86 I used to think the exact same thing until I started going to BBQ competitions and talking to the teams and some of the judges. If the meat is falling off the bone you loose points.
-
Damn @goosehd , killin it again
-
Sampling the new neighborhood bagelry. Fantastic.
-
@mclaincausey dang what is that cream cheese — looks like peach rosemary? Or maybe thyme?
-
Ha that makes a lot more sense — you’re probably right. I think peach thyme would actually be pretty tasty though, might try making that sometime.
-
@mclaincausey I’m a total bagel snob, and those do look quite good.
-
@pechelman nailed it @popvulture
They’re a bit crispy skinned and chewy inside. I lightly toasted them too.
The place is https://www.richspiritbagels.com/
If you find yourself there, you’re near me @pechelman and I’d love to grab a coffee and bagel if you’re so inclined. Queen City is right there too and it’s very good coffee imo.
They are good and it’s nice to have this level of quality @Jett129 ; check out the link if you’re curious about what they’re doing but it’s a venture from one of the more respected bakeries in town.
-
@mclaincausey thanks! I'll definitely hit you up next time we're around. We're often up that way to visit good friends in golden.
-
@pechelman LOVE Golden tonight down 32nd!
-
@mclaincausey We went to Golden, back in October ,on @Mizmazzle recommendation ,and really liked it.
-
I would love to live there. The brewery and the mesas constrain real estate acreage so it’s very expensive and difficult to find a spot in the nicest parts. It’s far enough away from but close enough to the city to be perfectly situated for someone who wants quiet but access to amenities.
We are in Wheat Ridge, so west of Denver and east of Golden. A great community too with a lot of positive growth such as this new bagel place. But being a tad closer to the mountains would be even better, especially in an idyllic place like Golden with its lazy creek and charming downtown.
To get back to food, there’s a really cool Nepalese place there we recently ate at for a friend’s birthday called Sherpa House. It has been there a while and is an institution. They have really cool Nepalese decor and even a great little store.
There’s also a food hall called Golden Mill that is on Clear Creek. Lots of good food options and the roof has a great view of the creek and the mesas.
And the best place I’ve seen in the state for agave spirits is Golden Liquors.

In Yonkers on business. While tempted by a Oaxacan restaurant in the Bronx, after a lot of long days and early mornings of late my laziness got the best of me. New Haven style pizza c/o Pepe’s FTW!
-
@mclaincausey I grew up in The Bronx, not far from the Yonkers border. Will you be in NYC at all?
-
@Jett129 already on my way back unfortunately. I’ll be back quite a bit I reckon though and will reach out!
