Wahoo I’ve just got tickets too see Tool in July at the o2 and tonight I just booked P J Harvey in August! I can’t wait. Any one seen seen them live?
I’ll just leave this here for you to enjoy. -
@jiminstitches I'm off to see them at the End of May in Birmingham, will be the first time! Have King Gizzard the night before too, gonna be a sick few days :the_horns:
-
@endo i can’t wait!
-
@T4920 dude that’s gonna be amazing! Interestingly I was reading a Maynard interview and he loves PJ Harvey and that every time he see her live she breaks his heart, though that was cool. The Night Sweats are playing in London in June too so I had to grab some tickets for him
-
@jiminstitches I saw Tool a couple years ago. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Also, probably the loudest show I’ve ever heard. Think my ears are still ringing
-
@Mizmazzle oh you lucky, lucky man...
It's a dream of mine to see a show there, is it local to you?
-
@Mizmazzle @ARNC is going to see Sunn O))) soon, I wanted to join but couldn't get a ticket...
They have a reputation for being insanely loud, and I've heard a story about them endangering the structural integrity of a British heritage building with the sheer velocity of their sound..
Don't forget your earplugs, Andrew...

@Mizmazzle Closest I’ve been to a show at Red Rocks is hearing Slipknot do a sound check. Sounded amazing. Pretty high on my musical bucket list.

Not sure how well known Echo and the Bunnymen are outside of the UK, but for a musical child of the 80’s, this pre-tour warm in front of around 400 people was fantastic. I also bumped into a couple of old friends which made the night.
Unlike many frontmen these days, Ian McCulloch spoke at length between every song - unfortunately he mumbled in a very strong Scouse (Liverpool) accent, so none of us Southern softies understood a word he said…or at least I didn’t!
For reference, one of the greatest songs of the 80’s:

@Mizmazzle ah fantastic that’s great to hear! When did you see them and can you remember what Maynard was wearing, always love his outfits!
-
@jiminstitches It was like two years ago. I remember he had on a very traditional punk rock type outfit with long plaid shorts, black boot and suspenders. Also he was rocking a mohawk. They absolutely destroyed the place.
EDIT: Just looked it up. I saw them 1/28/22 at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.
