So looking forward to the weather in LA.
Texas is so miserably hot now, and is going to stay that way for the next five months…

These are the first IH Jeans I ever purchased – at SESF a few months after the store first opened. After these, I went through my skinny, tight phase....which I've thankfully exited. I did the whole "size down 1 or 2 crap" during my skinny/tight phase, which I will never, ever do again. I chalk that phase up to a newbie learning phase for me. I've never been into sizing down on jeans, even when I was wearing Levi 501s in high school...my whole life long, tight jeans has never been Shubha. But discovery of Japanese denim got me wrapped up in the silly sizing down bullshit (thanks to SuFu), but it was never me and I was never comfortable with it. I've now returned to what I authentically am and have always been...kinda loose boyfriendy jeans. Not that Beatle Busters and 666's aren't awesome -- I'd buy them, except wear them looser. I'd get W30 in those rather than W28/29, or maybe even a W31, depending on Beatle's and Giles' recommendation (probably a W30).
I'm glad I didn't give these away. I have grown to LOVE THEM. I love them so much, that I've had a tailor sew these hand-picked patches on...and they embody symbols which are near and dear to my heart. I used to wear them cuffed...now I wear these altered to proper length by a professional tailor (no chainstitching involved !).
Ideas near and dear to Shubha's heart:

I am damn proud to be American. I love the US of A for the tremendous opportunity it has afforded me and my family. My Mum and Dad immigrated to Ohio in 1968 -- while the Vietnam war was in full swing, I was just 3.5 years old.

I'm generally a very sunny, happy and radiant person. Of course I have my bad days, but not often. I'm definitely a "glass half full" type, rather than a "glass half empty" type.

The Rolling Stones are the greatest musicians on earth, and will go down in history as the greatest rock and roll band of all time. "Beast of Burden" -- Shubha's ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG !

I cannot deny that I've been VERY fortunate and lucky in life. True, nobody but nobody works harder than me, and I never take shit for granted – but you also need luck on your side and I've had ample amounts of it so far.

Great stuff, Shubz!.. I'm so glad you're back… You have a beautiful and crazy mind and it oozes out in every one of your posts...
I just got another pair of 634ses as well btw... Getting the IH-801s changed something in my mindset - I suddenly didn't mind the fuller legged pants... So yeah: stoked!.. Although I probs will not be sewing any patches on it...

@ shabooba
i love that those jeans & that customization means something to you as opposed to just another article of clothing. i'm not a fan of the patches, but i love that you do your own thing & that you are so comfortable in your own skin. much respect & salute to you
always great to read your posts, don't stay away so long
