I'd love to have a Seiko Pogue (6139-6002) but these watches are a minefield nowadays.

I decided to wear my Swatch from when I was 10 today, despite not not working. I love it too much to have it sitting in a drawer forever.
@Anesthetist i believe you still owe us some pics of your collection…

@yannis Nice Nodus. I’ve been wearing my Random Rob Sector Deep.

They are pretty cool watches. I like the new gmt that is going on sale tomorrow.

Great addition to your collection @Matt
I still wear my willard all the time.
-
@Matt yeah it is a lot of money, but my only watch in that pricerange and also got it with a 20% discount because the dealer closed their business. This watch is one of the few things I can wear everyday without getting bored

I just got a watch! Hamilton khaki field in bronze. I've never really had a watch before. This one should age nicely.
-
@Rangadello Beautiful watch that I have looked at many times. What are your thoughts on it?
-
@goosehd I've only been wearing it for a few hours, but so far I am really enjoying it. It looks and feels very new... but that should take care of itself in time, and I think it's really going to age nicely. The dial size feel just perfect, and the build and material seem very solid and high quality. The matte finish of the bronze is very nice. Strap is comfortable. I love how thin this watch is (~9mm I think). If I had one complaint it would be that the lug-to-lug measurement is a little long. It would fit on my wrist a bit better if this measurement were a little shorter. And if I ever go without a nato strap, there is likely going to be a bit of a gap there. But I am perfectly happy with this strap. And overall, I am very happy with this watch.

My first ever Seiko. Beyond happy. Hopefully this is not the start of something. I’m happy being the ‘one seiko’ guy…

Here’s my initial thoughts on the Sistem 51 for those who may or may not care.
I’ve loved Swatches since I was 10 and wore two of them n the same wrist in middle school. I think getting an automatic watch that’s cool to look at for $100 is a steal. The fact that it isn’t serviceable doesn’t bother me in the slightest since I can just buy a new one if need be at that price. Though having just one Swatch kind of defeats the purpose
It’s a little noisy but I enjoy mechanical things that do mechanical things. The fact that it’s plastic isn’t a con for me, it’s lightweight and easy to wear. The strap plastic is also very smooth, like a G-Shock.
The ones I got are from eBay and are 10ish years old so they definitely last.
Fully automated construction in a proprietary Swiss facility with just 51 pieces is a pretty cool feat if you ask me.
Basically I love all the things most people hate about them. Perspective wins out here I guess. Highly recommend. I’ve got one in my mailbox right now and I can’t wait to see it.
