Who Skates?

Woah that Madness board is so sick. Looks like a fun shape too.

Hey guys! I'm considering a Landyachtz Dinghy as a Cruiser Board. I feel like getting a little bit into Skating again. I want a nible board that cruises well but also allows for an olli.
I've got one week in summer just for myself, before we have our long awaited family camping-holiday :). My plan for that one week off work and other obligations is to hike and skate (maybe 20-30km/day) on German bike trails, camp on a camping ground and repeat.
Do you think the Landyachtz Dinghy will serve me well for that trip?

@RobeOfTheMagi hey bro. I’m a mostly retired street skater for almost my entire life. I moved to South America and got into some downhill drifting on a long board that still had some street handling abilities. It was so damn fun to skate. Fast, stable, had pop for Ollie’s over cracks and debris. Fun to pop off curbs and small transitions….did I say fast!!?
That board was a Never Summer. Best build you could imagine.
Never Summer is a local Denver company…makes sick boards. Snowboards are their bread and butter.Worth a look. Check this deck out!!

Can't stop watching Andy Anderson skate. It's not really skating -it's more like art.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi yea that dude skates for fun and is so creative!!
-
@Mizmazzle You can simply feel his joy =).
Quick pic of my evening cruise with a new second hand Landyachtz Dinghy beneath my feet, sunset in my eyes and Tool's "pneuma" in my ears :). Pure bliss.

@Mizmazzle Sincerest apologies mate, I forgot to reply to your message! I did look into Never Summer boards, they look fantastic! But for me getting into skating and cruising again after many years they are simply too expensive for me. However muscle memory seems to kick in pretty fast and the first frontside 180 and pop shove it came back quickly with the dinghy :). Well, they don't look great yet but I'm happy. Maybe in the near future I might buy a Never summer or an old school Powell-Peralta.

@RobeOfTheMagi that was enjoyable on many levels. Thank you for sharing

@RobeOfTheMagi rad man!! Listening to Tool is great for skating or taking a bike ride.
Have a skate date with my nephew this week. Got him his first proper board for Christmas. He just turned 7. Fun to roll around with him. Pop some ollies and throw some power slides.

Ohh nice topic!!! I also skated for a long time when I was a teenager, my boards were Cliché (an European brand) and off course Zero, I still have my last which got me to a big trauma and stopped my career . Nofx, bad religion or Satanic Surfers in my ears, that's all I needed that time.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi I've seen so many Andy Anderson videos. I've always been super impressed with his skill but so much more with his pure love of skateboarding. I mean, he was having a blast doing a stall in a hole in the ground haha. But that vid you shared really show cased his persona so well. He's a really unique skater and one I grow to appreciate more all the time.

@Mizmazzle Oh yeah Daewon style! I like em loose but cutting the bushings down is wild.

My oldest son has gotten into skating recently. Started with inline skating after watching the movie Brink, and has slowly started morphing into skateboarding. I found a neighbor locally who gave us a free deck and a free longboard. We got some free used spitfire wheels from our local skateshop and bought some independent trucks. He is loving it! I've been getting back into it with him and riding the longboard. I used to ride all the hills 20-25 years ago, so it's been fun feeling young again.

@Eza Roller skating is so much fun...
@chrisjohnnick thats awesome, love hearing that. We are about to have our first boy, and my dream is to have a sesh with him one day...

Every young lad that chooses a board over a scooter deserves a warm hug.

Has anyone got personal experience with the Comet Cruiser?
