IHM-39-BLK - Military Serge A2 Deck Jacket - Black
First issued to US Navy sailors in the early 1960s, the A2 deck jacket was the natural successor to the iconic N1, utilising lighter-weight but equally functional materials. Its design incorporated the N1’s tried and tested features such as a heavy-duty zipper and hidden storm cuffs - but with a modified collar, hemline cinches and an added breast pocket for versatility.
This Iron Heart take on a classic jacket remains very true to the original design, constructed with a tough 11oz military serge outer shell with a 100% wool liner. The wool we’ve used to line the interior has been specifically chosen by Haraki-san for its unique characteristics. While the yarns are dyed in Nagoya, the knit itself has been shuttle woven in the textile capital of Japan, Osaka. The use of a traditional shuttle loom creates a much fluffier texture to improve heat retention, with the fabric brushed post-knit to achieve a hand feel akin to a vintage wool blanket. Unlike the quilted sleeve lining found on our N1 jackets, this wool lining extends throughout the body of the jacket and all the way down the sleeves - providing maximum warmth and comfort during the colder months, without losing the smooth feel when putting on and taking off the jacket.

Number 1 for me

I really, really like this. I think I am going with this, the Sashiko 21oz, the green UHF, and camel cord shirt.

In for 1. Considering GAH buttons and copper snap.

@isXnext a good art button on the chest pocket would be killer
-
@Choko I was thinking exactly the same.
I think what got me confused was the details section mentioning "which can be pimped with a choice of alternative ‘heavy-duty’ snaps". I have no idea why I thought that meant that GAH snaps could not be applied here.
I'd surely do a GAH snap rather than a copper one.
