@Oaktavia Yes it was the preorder for the Sashiko shirts that were due in late March and pushed back numerous times.
Edit: He occasionally updates via Instagram (I don’t have an account) and very rarely via email. Communication and methods of doing so is something they need to work on.

Ah yes I would be frustrated by that.

I imagine the hats are all made and ready to ship. I know they aren’t made “in-house” at their Portland shop.
-
@Danimal506 I was actually wondering if they made the hats in house.
-
@Mizmazzle I can’t remember where I read it. But they fall under their “trusted partners” umbrella for manufacturing. I don’t mind, personally. The build quality is solid and the materials are always unique.
To my knowledge, the in house stuff is most of the clothing like jackets and denim goods and the bags and leather goods are all in house. But like the gloves and t shirts and hats are all made from outside manufacturers made to Ship John specs.

Re the delays in the Sashiko shirts; I wonder if they’re having difficulty actually constructing the shirts… can’t imagine that 16 oz is easy to work with. I’ve been quite frustrated with the ‘pay us half now, we’ll deliver when we deliver’ model, but I’m in the minority, as SJ remains hella popular

I just got shipping notification for my sashiko hat.

@Mizmazzle this is the mental pic I have

Thanks to @Mizmazzle for allowing me to jump into his Wills jacket queue position and to @Anesthetist for hand carrying this jacket over to the UK for me. Very pleased with this jacket and looking forward to using it in the colder months (a bit too warm in the UK here for a change).
I went with a regular Large size and I think it has worked out OK. I wanted a slimmer fit as we don't really get the super cold winters in the UK so no huge need to layer up in it. I wanted a trim fit with a shirt or sweat underneath.
Ship John were helpful with sizing enquiries. For reference I am an XL in most IH shirts and Large in most IH jackets. in the pictures I am wearing a thin white Merino t-shirt under the jacket.
