@SKT did the same thing this morning

It can be such a long corner though.
Welcome back to the east coast bro.

It’s been 105 all week here. I was talking to someone yesterday on Zoom and he was in Vermont, wearing a cozy looking flannel cpo type of thing. He said the high was like 65 or something. The envy was REAL.

We leave here on Sunday. I’m very excited.

@AdamJ ugh dude yeah — NY can be so awful in the summer. You have to walk everywhere while it’s super muggy and hot, and pretty much any place you go will have scant AC at best. I don’t miss that part of living there!

Not sure where you were going, when you were in NYC, that they had scant AC. I find most places to be like meat lockers, and depending on how long your going to be inside you might want to carry a jean jacket. I love NYC in the summer ,even if its hot AF. I wear 21OZ IH,in NYC, from May to October.

@Jett129 I lived in Brooklyn from 2000-07, and in my memory seeing central AC was a real rarity unless I was in a department store or an office building. The apartments my friends and I lived in all had (supply-your-own, of course) window units at best.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Texas much of the time, but the sub-arctic AC here has spoiled me. I remember the first time I went back to visit my friends in NY, and for some reason having to walk from the south side of Williamsburg by the JMZ up to a restaurant on the north side. Got a lovely case of swamp-ass on the hike and was looking forward to sitting down to a burger and beer at a place with some nice cool air. We arrived at the place and the windows were all open, not a BTU in sight.
Different strokes I guess!

I'll add that to be fair, I am constantly hot. My girlfriend, on the other hand, is constantly cold — our otherwise pretty perfect relationship teeters on this deadly knife's edge
-
@popvulture this is an exact mirror image of my wife and I hot bloodedness doesn’t lend itself well to trying to destroy extra heavy denim as a hobby does it 🥵
-
@popvulture I’d be lying if I said I never get swamp ass walking around NYC in the summer. Not sure that it’s one of those get used to it kind of things. I guess I’ve just learned to tolerate it.
-
@Jett129 oh for sure haha — I feel like living in NY means putting up with a lot of stuff. It makes you tougher.
-
@DeeDee85 dude you know it!

I have always enjoyed spicy foods and been growing some different hot pepper varieties over the last few years…
Last night I ate one of my first fully ripened ghost peppers from this year’s plantings and it was the first time a pepper hurt me. The capsaicin cramps were brutal with zero desire to eat anything spicy today…possibly the next few days.
I think I may have found my threshold for all things spicy. I know there are hotter peppers out there, but I may tap out at this one.
