Random Rants

@popvulture I’d be lying if I said I never get swamp ass walking around NYC in the summer. Not sure that it’s one of those get used to it kind of things. I guess I’ve just learned to tolerate it.
-
@Jett129 oh for sure haha — I feel like living in NY means putting up with a lot of stuff. It makes you tougher.
-
@DeeDee85 dude you know it!

I have always enjoyed spicy foods and been growing some different hot pepper varieties over the last few years…
Last night I ate one of my first fully ripened ghost peppers from this year’s plantings and it was the first time a pepper hurt me. The capsaicin cramps were brutal with zero desire to eat anything spicy today…possibly the next few days.
I think I may have found my threshold for all things spicy. I know there are hotter peppers out there, but I may tap out at this one.
-
I don't mess with the hottest peppers for that reason Dennis, but I will use them in a diluted state for their unique flavors. I use Ghost peppers in small quantities in my dutch oven chili. I use Habaneros in small doses in my Trinidad chicken stew for their fruitiness and building heat.
-
@jordanscollected My plan as well, but I always try a new pepper by itself to see how I’m going to use it. Normally like to use them in sauces, dried, or various dishes depending on the flavour and strength.
My thought was how bad could one pepper be on it’s own…
@Jett129 Great video and gave me something to smile at

@goosehd How can this belong in random rants?
Friends of mine run a restaurant and their signature dish is Nashville Hot Chicken.
Their dad is from Sri Lanka, so they're pretty tolerant to hot peppers.
They serve 5 stages, Mild, Hot, Really Hot, Lord Have Mercy and The Afterlife. I haven't done anything above Really Hot yet. They also serve good beer, but I have not yet been drunk enough to order anything hotter than that. I'm too scared... -
@Tago-Mago you know the place all too well!
-
@Mizmazzle that sucks. Make Carl pay it.
-
@Mizmazzle so here’s the plan. These pets need to earn their keep so we start an Instagram account for them, think “Wabi sabi woofers” or “the fading fetchers” (unfortunately denim dog is already taken). The dogs wear some IH doing dog things, they get insanely popular, the money flows in and we divide it up to pay for their costs. Easy peasy and I see no roadblocks to this
-
@Mizmazzle Not cool. Who issues these tickets? I don’t think we have anyone around here that enforces this, although the DFO will check your boat for fish sometimes.
I usually keep our dogs on the leash when going on a walk - mainly to keep them from chasing deer. Sometimes I’ll let them off at the beach if no one is around and let them run and swim. My wife takes them on dog dates, which is just an excuse to hang out with your friends and walk the dogs
@SKT Solid plan if we could get IH to sponsor the dogs ~ they could open a new line of clothing that caters to the canine.

@Denman-John right!? New one…”The Iron Heart Hounds”
-
@Denman-John In veterinary medicine we often see a lot of BDLD attacks (Big Dog/Little Dog) and HBC (Hit By Car) for owners letting their dogs run free in parks and other highly used areas.
The starting emergency room visit (walking in the front door) now costs a minimum of $1000 CAD.
I think a lot of those rules are put into place to avoid such incidents.

Isn't this what training is for? I'm not being facetious, but surely you shouldn't have a dog if you cannot at least manage recall training.
