@Kasi Damn; not good if they break, no.
I had thought it was a good upgrade to stop the connector undoing of its own accord. What did Good Art say? Is there any way to repair them?
-
@Mister_Brue
Ball chain not made at the foundry’s
Only the connectorFor reason I went with others chain or get yourself a clip 7 or big eye clip
-
@Mister_Brue If the other connectors are likes my wife’s ball connector, it’s very tight and stands a pretty low chance of accidentally coming undone.
My 2A curb chain however gets undone from time to time and has fallen off. -
@Danimal506 I have worn my curb chain daily for 7 years and never has it opened accidentally. Sounds like yours needs a tune up.
-
@Kasi oh that sucks ️ I have one pop lock piece and have hesitated to get others for this reason
-
Stealie on an Ooe vest ️

@Anesthetist
They don’t make like that anymore.
Am glad I have that pin -

I actually prefer the simple elegance of the regular ball chain clasps. I’ve never worried about the chain popping out. It’s very solid.
The problem with pop lock I seen it in hand.
I never go for it once it’s broken game over.
Ball connecter. Can be tightened to be safe.
Also talking from experience even pop lock rondel is shit to, fell off to weak
Even the ear cuff to weak. -
The real reason I dont have any of their 22k gold pieces…..
-
@Kasi The shop I got it from still has one more, If it’s around next month, I may buy that one too
-
Ahh that’s lousy about the pop locks. Just the same as everybody else has said about the old style #10 ball connectors, I’ve never had an issue with mine coming off. The connection feels a little loose but gravity seems to take care of things. I could tighten it up a little but it doesn’t seem to need it, so I haven’t bothered.

@Anesthetist
Which shop is that -
@Anesthetist I think it’s because it gets snagged on things like long sleeves on jackets. The spring is still as tight as when it was new and it’s kind of always been a thing I have to keep an eye on.
Might be worth sending an email though. -
@Kasi wouldnt you like to know…..
-
Ok you wanna play it that’s way.
Next time there sale somewhere wouldn’t you like to know, like last time.
-
Good Art want to feature my picture.
️️@Anesthetist have you had one yet
-
@Kasi Damn i was not expecting something like this would happen as the bar connecting each ball is quite thick .... I was debating between the poplock and goosebump connector version for ages and now im glad I went with the standard connector.
Also personally I have 2 No3 chains and 1 No10 chains and none of them feel like they are gonna break or something, maybe yours is just one of those bad one that went through QC?
Speaking of QC.... Am I right that within in the same item, some batches are just not as good as others in terms of quality control? Like for example my model 28 ring small, the 4 digit number is stamped on off centre, the GA logo had a extra line where its not supposed to be, and previously I had some goosebump pieces (roundel and ring), the goosebump texture was not polished properly with lumpy areas, and the rose motif casted off centre etc....
I suppose when its casted from a mould stuff like this could happen during the casting process?
