IHSH-397-IND - 21oz Sashiko Work Shirt - Indigo
-
I ended up sending both the XL and XXL back — this one just wasn’t in the cards for me. To be fair, work cut has never been my jam, because when I pick a shoulder measurement that fits, often the body ends up too wide. Didn’t notice the pits on the XL but @Matt i definitely noticed the biceps being uncomfortable.
@Denimminer I totally agree with Mizz that yours looks like a great fit.

found one! Withered Fig! Now I just hope it fits.
-
I could’ve done the XL but considering the cost, it just wasn’t dialed enough for me to be happy with it. Plus I looked at my 295 that I haven’t worn nearly enough and figured it’d more than meet the need.

@popvulture 295 is a masterpiece.
Sucks it didn’t work out, but you know as well as anyone, if it’s not going to work then no point in banishing it to the closet full of shirts that don’t get worn either.Hell, I have so many shirts I love and too many of them don’t get the wear they deserve.

@Mizmazzle beautiful!!! you chose very well my friend, I don't like things that are too symmetrical! I really like the arrangement

Hi! I'm new here. I felt this shirt warranted finally signing up and saying something. I was pretty late to the 21oz sashiko party and only heard about it once stockists started posting images on socials a week or so ago. By then nearly everyone had sold out of all the most popular sizes. But I got lucky with a place in Minnesota called BlackBlue. Shirt showed up today and Woah... Incredible!
I'm usually between sizes with Iron Heart shirts. I can manage an L if I plan on wearing a jacket on top and usually and XL if I plan on making it the top layer. I got an XL and it fits me perfectly. -
I just wanted to show the shoulder measurements on my two shirts I ordered. Both sizes are coming in about an inch less than posted here. Yes there is a bend in the tape but even using both hands, no amount of adjustments got near the 18.3 for the large and 19.2 of the XL. I did noticed that the stockist I got one of my shirts from has the measurements of the XXL as 19. I'm wondering if this shirt just varied that wildly.
-
@Denimminer it’s academic if you’re happy with the fit of one of the two sizes (FWIW I think the large looks better but you could go either way), but you’ll probably get closer to the published measurements if you measure the IH way. I know some retailers measure your way, so it can get confusing!
-
@Denimminer Please see pictures on how IH measures shoulders:
Shoulder: fold the garment in half down the centre so that the back of the shoulder sleeve seams meet to find the centre of the back of the collar. Measure from the top of the arm/shoulder seam to the centre of the back of the collar and then (a) measure back down to the top of the other arm/shoulder seam, OR (b) double this measurement.

Shirt came in today and it's jaw dropping, amazing work. Got my usual IH size M and fit is bang on with room for a heavy T if needed. My camera is garbage so you'll have to take my word for now! Shout out to the team at Iron Shop Provisions for the flawless delivery. So happy with this

@ARNC I don't know how I've been on here as long as I have and always measured the way I showed, hmmmphh. Maybe because I always check other retailers and just knew in my head I wanted 18" across the shoulders so I always looked for that measurement and checked that it was close that way when I got new shirts.
Either way,...i still don't know which to keep. I like that currently I can have the large unbuttoned and it hangs nice, vs the XL I can't do that. Anyone think a hot wash will bring the XL in enough? Maybe I just need to try it on with jeans vs shorts.
