IHJ-129-BRN - Japanese Horsehide Riders Jacket - Brown

@flannel-slut I may buy one some time also.
-
@twin do you own the black one? Pretty sure I remember seeing you rocking one a few months ago
Edit: just took a look at your profile. Black Type 3. Very nice btw -
@flannel-slut No I do not have this jacket. The only IH. leather jacket I have is the IH-64.
-
@flannel-slut congratulations, great looking fit.
I’ve tried a bunch of leather jackets from many of the Japanese and North American makers … my two cents, is that you need one jacket for tee shirts, and another jacket for layering.
-
@Brandrea thanks man! And completely agree on your sizing comment. I was trying to do EXACTLY that when first purchased the large… like I could shrink it down some in the wash if it was a little too big
There are some of you lucky few out there (and you know who you are) who have been able to balance that fine line between hoody and tshirt.
My two cents or @futureconsumer; horsehide, better off w a tighter than looser fit. Steerhide/roughouts or leather w more of a “drape”, lends to sizing up and pry the better layering option. -
Taking advantage of a much welcomed mid summer cold front

Got about 15 hours of wear in yesterday and noticed that the folds above the cuffs are starting to settle.
Also some of the natural leather is starting to show through. I assume this is exactly what I should expect but I hope the second one is the shape of things to come (I prefer the more feathered edges) Maybe that’s just a function of location (cuff vs armpit).

Looking good @ARNC
The scuffs will look more faded and natural with time -

@flannel-slut that is a stellar shirt & jacket combo! Congrats sir!
Is that the IHSH-235? Envious peeps would like to know… -
@motojobobo see over in the dyeing clothes thread, he overdyed it!
-
Ahhhh…thanks @tody
-
@motojobobo thanks moto
-
@flannel-slut yeah that DIY emerald green is so nice! I really want a burgundy Serge shirt, but wouldn't wanna overdye my cherished grey one...
-
@T4920 thanks man. And a burgundy serge would look daaamn good but will say the dye was a little resistant to penetrating the serge material which might be why I have some streaking. Going from a light grey to a burgundy may create too much contrast if the dye does not take uniformly. Then again, it could have more of a tie dye effect and look sick… don’t mind me. Thinking out loud at this point.
