Am so tempted but it’s already hit 26 here today and going to get warmer as the weeks go on we don’t really go under 14-15 in the winter and then I’m just inside so not sure it’s justified
And sizing the x small or small seem ok but I’ve never bought anything in a small since I was about 15 -
Hello everyone, new to the forum
@Alex : Since I was really interested by the jacket, I was eyeing the site around said release time, and ordered as soon as it was online.
Checked back 10 minutes later and half or more of the Medium & Large were already gone...guess some things don't need announcementLooks to sell even faster on the black one !
Will post some fit pics eventually.

Indeed. Glad I could get one
From past forum threads I read, I could see those jackets were popular, but had not expected for them to sell that fast. -
My jacket arrived today. Alas, it's Spring in Sydney, so may not have an opportunity to wear it for the time being. I am so impressed by the quality of the jacket. I can see this is going to be with me for many years.

this one is a winner.....the colour is even nicer in person, almost a little bit coppery

If I were in the market for a N-1 jacket, this would be the one. It’s such a great colour from the pictures I’ve seen, but it’s not in the budget this year. Wear them in good health and post more pictures!

Luckily the weather here in Sweden has allowed me to wear this jacket since it came out, it’s a great piece!
Sizing
According to the measurements and comments from others here I was leaning towards an L for a slimmer fit (194cm, 83kg). I’m happy that I ordered both the L and XL, because the L was too tight in the shoulders and on the shorter side. With a UHF underneath the XL fits great, so if you intend to wear this as a practical winter jacket and not just a fashion item I highly recommend sizing up and take your UHF size!Jacket
I wanted to wait for the new oiled khaki version, but after seeing some of the real world photos of the brown one I was sold. I own way too many green, black and khaki clothes anyway and wanted to try something else.
As others have said it’s a bit of a coppery, duck brown and fits really well with the lighter color of the wool lining. There’s not much to say about the quality of the jacket, apart from the fact that it’s very well constructed and will last a lifetime (to be expected at this price). I like the fitted look of the IH version, compared to the Buzz Rickson N1 that I considered which looked more baggy.
I'm also very curious how it will break in and develop over time. On the first day it felt like the jacket was wearing me while now it feels more fitted, especially after it got completely soaked in the rain. I don't expect any crazy patina, but I'm interested in experiences from others that have been wearing these for many years.

What does this jacket feel like when you are wearing it? Does it feel heavy like you’re wearing a winter jacket? Does it restrict your movement? Do you think it would make a good hiking jacket, or is it too warm?
-
What size is recommended for someone who is 179cm tall and about 78kg? My IH shirt size is between 40 and 42.
-
@Denman-John I wore the khaki version of this a lot last winter and have recently sold it on to buy this brown version. It does indeed feel very heavy and maybe even a little restrictive with its bulk so very much a winter jacket but maybe not so great for hiking when you need to be moving fast. The wind proof lining and the alpaca are great for regulating body temp etc but I don’t think I’d be packing it on a hiking trip. It is absolutely awesome though, perhaps my favourite IH piece to date.

@SKT Up until a few weeks ago I was wearing XXL for almost everything IH but started to get freaked out about washing my flannels and possibly shrinking them so I sold them on and re-purchased a couple in XXXL. So at the minute I’m XXL in denim shirts, XXXL in UHF’s and I went with XXL for this deck jacket. Could have maybe squeezed into an XL but I have room to layer now and love how it fits. The sleeves seem around an inch shorter than the 2023 one I sold too which is great.
