@popvulture A bit stretchier than IH's 11oz, if you have one of those for comparison. I prefer the more fitted size L than my grey XL. They stretch out around the P2P measurement no problem, which is where I need it, but I think would struggle with them digging into my pits with a size M.

@EdH Thanks for sharing.
I'd be interested to see this compared to the lady white co Rugby Tee.

@cbmyles I have the French Terry double heavy weight zip hoodie. It’s HEAVY feeling like a blanket, which I love. The Waldes zipper is a nice touch.
My only complaint, (really not a big one but sort of) is that the knit they used on the cuffs and hem don’t really match the heft of the rest of the garment, if that makes sense.
-
@cbmyles I think you’re right.
I own the IH zip IHSW-11 and the arms and body is significantly trimmer. I’m an XXL in the IH and Large in the Wonderlooper (for your reference).
-
24.4 in a L looks big for the sweatshirts. Is that because it will shrink?
-
@ler224 , in one of their recent videos I believe they said they will shrink about 2% but that you can get most of that back by gently stretching the fabric back out. I have not seen any noticeable shrinkage in my Double Heavy Weights. I wash them in cold, no spin, no tumble dry. The draw back is it take days to dry out lol

Anyone know how the sleeves on the WL pullovers compare to the IH pullovers? I have an IH and love it, but my one complaint is that the sleeves are too tight for my liking. I don't have big arms so that isn't the issue. The issue I have is that I like to push my sleeves up from time to time and the IH sleeves just aren't cooperating with that.
-
@edgarallanpoe the sleeves are much more relaxed by comparison.
I have two of the double weight French Terry hoodies and one double heavy weight crew sweatshirt and they are both quite generous in the way they wear.
-
@edgarallanpoe here are a couple of fit pics. I’m 6’2, 180 lbs wearing size large in the hoodie and XL in the Crew.
-
Thanks...yeah, I can definitely see the sleeves are a bit thicker. I think I'm going to grab one of the hoodies. As luck would have it, the green one is the same color as the school colors for the boy's volleyball team I coach. That will help me justify it to my wife. lol

I own a several of these shirts. They are so freaking awesome and amazing!
-
@edgarallanpoe you won’t be disappointed. The weight of these things is truly remarkable !

You weren't lying...damn this thing is heavy. Much heavier than my IH Ultra Heavy hoodie. They are also completely different designs. The materials are also completely different. The IH material is more of a soft, brushed interior while the WL is unbrushed with large loops inside. One is not better than the other, they are simply different. The designs are also completely different withe WL having the Raglan sleeves and IH have the traditional sleeves.
These are both spectacular articles of clothing and I'm proud to own them both. If I were to give the nod to one over the other I would give it to WL for the following reasons.
- I like the more generous fit of the WL. I'm a bigger guy who likes to wear his clothes a bit on the big side.
- I grew up the the US wearing the original articles of clothing these are both based on. My dad was a gym teacher and we always had hoodies and sweats available to us. These were never used as fashion pieces, they were SWEAT clothes that we used to work out in. The unbrushed, unlined interior of the WL is exactly what the old stuff had. I don't remember getting fleece lining in sweats until I was a teenager. I'm in my mid 50's and my dad is 80. This feels like my dads sweat shirts and I love that feel.
I would absolutely buy both of these hoodies again. I would buy the IH if I was looking for more of a refined, polished piece and the WL if I was looking for a bigger fit and old school tactile feel of the vintage US sweats. You cannot go wrong with either and it's great to have both of these available to us consumers. These companies get it...and it's awesome.

@edgarallanpoe so glad you like it! Did you go with the double heavy weight French Terry?
I have two of these hoodies, (have to sell one in large).
I recently bought the DHW sweat pants as well. When you’re wearing the, with the hoodie it’s like you’re wrapped in a horse blanket lol

Yup...in a dark green. It's beautiful. Thanks for your help with this.

Here are pics of some of the things I was referring to in my earlier post. The green is the Wl and the red is the IH. You can see the difference in the width of the sleeves...this is a huge one for me. I'm not a fan of the modern, more tailored sleeves. The WL material is a slightly looser weave and as such has a little more character in the material. However, the IH tight weave is a much more refined look and is beautiful in its own right. The interior is really where these two diverge...the WL is an old school vintage US 1940-60s feel and the IH is insanely soft and comfortable.
