@meltdown Yeah if your looking at the 21oz, you can add 0.5" just to be safe, that way you can always have them cut down shorter if you ever need to, we can always take off more but can never add it back on.
If you want to roll/cuff the jeans you will want to take that into account on the overall length as well, for example if your inseam is a 30"leg, and you like to roll your jeans twice with a 2" roll, you will need to add on 4" to allow for the two 2" roll/cuff, so you would want the length to be a 34" when you hem them.

@pechelman @Oaktavia @saber here is a Skull Cap Lynne made of 21oz Denim that I have been wearing, which is a first draft that we will tweak but gives you a little idea, we have also been playing with tote bags as well.

@JoshC Sign me up!

Got to imagine that a denim skull cap has to be made-to-measure, no? Might make it difficult to produce at scale?
Looks cool though!
-
@EdH so Lynne actually found a template for what was a size "Large" I believe and just fits my big old dome of a head, the back of the skull cap does have a elastic strap that is denim wrapped to allow for some movement, but we would probably look at couple of sizes and alter maybe do something similar to Papa Nui and there sizing but definitely wasn't made to measure, just lucky it was good fit for me.
@Oaktavia im not normally a huge hat guy, but I have had a couple of skull caps now and actual dig it.

Very cool, @JoshC. I’d love to see more tote bags—maybe slightly smaller “portrait” orientation one with longer straps? My 25oz tote is my daily, but it’s a struggle sometimes to bend my elbow for a one handed swing over the shoulder. If the strap were just a few inches longer it would be effortless.
I love to see this experimentation!
-
@sabergirl absolutely this is definitely something me and Lynne have spoken about, and the straps are a biggie for me, nothing worse then having a tote you can't get your arm through, and we have mentioned potentially adding a buckel to the strap that is adjustable, so you have the ability to change the length to your needs, otherwise it might as just be shopping bag if the straps are too short haha, but having different shapes like portrait have been mentioned so I'm sure we will look into designing something.

Will there be a Black Friday or any other Iron Heart sale coming up soon?
-
@Denman-John Typically there is not, but I will let the IHUK crew confirm.
-
@Denman-John No we don't do Black Friday sales, generally we just do one sale annually, which was earlier in the year

No on both counts.
Dislike the Black Friday shit with a passion. I did it once or twice in the early days because I thought it had to be done. Then I realised I did not need to be part of an artificial construct. Does not mean we wont move some stuff into the Outlet if we feel like it.
We have sales when it makes sense to us, we need to make space, want to have some fun in an otherwise quiet period etc etc
And we never announce more than a couple of days in advance, otherwise we may as well do a general price reduction.

Roger, @motojobobo have you ridden this? Forgive me if you have already told us....

@Giles That bit of curvy road is known as Caracoles. It is a 30 km stretch of 29 curves taking you up (down) 600 meters. 2200 to 2800 meters. Terrific fun but those 3 km fly by too quickly. Very steep incline. Averages 20%!!! Hell for heavy trucks, especially descending, where they cannot use disk brakes and must rely on engine braking/lowest gear.
Enjoyment hinges on luck too. If you happen to hit heavy truck traffic, it becomes annoying. Happens frequently because it links Santiago (Chile) with Mendoza (Argentina), two big cities with significant commercial cargo between them.
If you remember the classic car rally I shared here a month ago…they went through Caracoles.
Btw, caracoles means snails…so I assume it -
@JoshC @sabergirl solid points for sure, especially if the 25oz tote is super full. Adjustable would be so sick!
-
…it must refer to the continual spiral on the shell? A Fibonacci sequence for the math guys!
-
@motojobobo I thought you were going to say it was named after snails because everything has to go so slowly.
