Holiday Traditions

A turkey tradition we started a few years ago is baking the bird upside down. Makes it so the dark meat is on top and the white meat is on the bottom. All the dark meat fats make their way down to the white meat ensuring the turkey is super juicy.
Not even necessary to season the bird. I know it sounds like lunacy. But it’s a total game changer and leaves extra time for lounging on the couch!

@Giles I’d love to see pics of how that turns out? Not sure I’m ballsy enough to try it

Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie has to be the best Thanksgiving song I can think of.
You can get anything you want,
At Alice's Restaurant -
@Mizmazzle What’s in the cast iron dish? Peach cobbler? Looks really good as does the drinks!! Pumpkin spice bailey’s (instead of milk) and kahlua (tia Maria)?

Man, the food coma is intense. There was turkey, cornbread dressing, bread stuffing, candied carrots, cranberry salad, Parmesan and panko green beans, pies, who knows what else. Definitely not gonna fit into my pants tomorrow. Maybe time to bring back those stretch 21oz. Happy T-day, y’all ️

To me Thanksgiving is friends family and food. Can't name all the food, besides Turkey, Dressing / stuffing / filling, Corn spoon bread, Mashed taters, String bean casserole, salads, Pumpkin pie, my sister made a chocolate pie. Not to mention the appetizers. There was 13 great family and friends here altogether.

I’m so glad you guys got to spend the holiday together. So jealous.
Of course if I were there I couldn’t have been in PA with my in-laws consisting of three feral (and I’m talking the three year old punched a dog) children, my sister in laws mom who joined the army to lose weight and is obsessed with horses and chihuahuas, and last but not least my father in laws dumb girlfriend Theresa who asked my brother in laws German exchange student if they celebrate thanksgiving in her country. I’m truly thankful to be home.
