Really torn between this and 777. Love the hem on the latter…
-
-
here are some pictures of the 666-UHR @Davids_denim and @Oaktavia
some of it were taken around 2020 during covid when I had a shit ton of time on my hands..
but they'll look the same now, now that they're retired and I pull them out on special occasions...
-
@louisbosco freaking sweet dude. May I ask the wash and wear count question?
-
-
@Oaktavia sorry there were a couple more and my computer skills failed me. but to answer your question, I have no clue.
I would wash them every 6 or so months, or when I felt like it. Mostly, it was when I was about to embark on a trip. as for wears wise, back then, they would've been worn almost every day for 2 years when I had more freedom at work to wear what I wanted. Here's a picture of them on the wall of fades back at the 2022 IH party..
-
@louisbosco right on man that sounds awesome though and thank you for sharing. I'm wearing my pair of UHR today. Love how yours turned out and can without a doubt understand why they were top of the DWC.
-
@Oaktavia cheers mate. I think the most valuable lesson I've learnt over the years is to ignore all the noise around how denim should be worn or washed. at the end of the day, they fade because you wear them, whether it's once a week or 30 times a month.
regardless of how we wear or wash them, the fades are going to be different between you and I, but they're all beautiful nonetheless.
-
@louisbosco 1000% agree with this
-
@louisbosco Well said!!

To be honest, I tried doing the wears, washes, and soaks thing, but it just wasn’t the way I enjoyed wearing denim. I wear them, they get dirty or stink, and I wash them. It was really liberating not to care and just enjoy them for what they are.
I get everybody has their own thing and it’s great to see so many different approaches. I think @Giles once said, this place would be pretty boring if we all did the same thing…or something to that effect.

I may have done, but I am more prone to say:
"The world would be a fucking boring place, if we all liked the same things"....

And I think of the forum as a microcosm of the world.
It has good days and bad days
It has funny people and really boring people
People who don't listen and people who do
People who give a fuck and people who don't
People of lots of nationalities
People of all sorts of sexual persuasion's
People of many religions
And I could go on and on and one.... -

The same @goosehd . At the beginning of my denim career
I thought it's al about the perfect fading results and to handle the jeans super carefully, soaking, hand wash, wear as long as possible without washing aso. I don't do that way anymore. Wear and wash when necessary, I now hate the smell of stinky denim especially in the warmer months .

I like to use the wear/wash numbers to help me measure someone else's and my own fade results. I understand it better that way and how different denim fades in their own unique ways. Over the years I've been here I have always done this. I think it helps my scatterbrain make more sense of this denim game. I do not see myself stopping either. I appreciate all y'all in many ways and love to hear these types of topics discussed.
