@mclaincausey I never gave a shit what anyone said. Phish, although not my favorite band anymore, are still absolutely incredible musicians. I still listen to their older shows from time to time, and they always sweep me away like they used to. I'm a little intimidated by their catalog from the 21st century, and haven't really listened to much of it.
The tribalism always confused me. I'm just here for the music. As a Phish and Dead fan, I can confidently say that it's all well-crafted music full of heart, soul, and talent. That said, I reach for the Dead more than just about anything, so I'm definitely a Deadhead with a deep appreciation of Phish.

@dinobarnesberlin this has been all over my feeds this week...
Normally I enjoy semi-ironic 'so bad it's good' kinda stuff, but not this!

@Graham ultra upvote!

@seawolf yeah that’s me too. I will say though that Phish is still a blast live. I don’t dig the cheesy dad rock as much as the absurd older stuff but the performances and lights are still amazing.

@mclaincausey Their lighting designer is incredible. The one thing that's always bugged me about Phish is their nonsense lyrics in some of the songs. Gamehenge on the other hand, is an epic rock opera, no matter how goofy it is.
-
Yeah they’ve moved from absurdist lyrics into love and light crap. I’ll take the absurdism over that.
And Robert Hunter or JP Barlow over that.

How about some Warren (and yes some Jeff Porcaro)?

@T4920 yea I get that for sure. This one caught me on a good day, not like I would loop it all day though.
