@GraemeE dammmmm. Well, on the bright side, this gives me hope. On the dark side, work can always wait for that chest hair and the Duane Allman slide work to accompany the flute.

Tweedy’s book is called “World Within a Song”
I've read once and listened to the audiobook once - will likely revisit every couple years
Great book

@endo Jeff was a founding member of the band Uncle Tupelo and then Wilco. He’s written two other books, the first was more a memoir…Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back)…second was “How to Write One Song” and then “World Within a Song”. The memoir is fantastic for anyone interested in the formation of Uncle Tupelo, their demise, and the birth of “Alt-Country”. I’ve enjoyed all the books immensely…my bias being he’s been in 2 of my all-time favorite bands and I would probably read anything he puts on paper.

@SKT - didnt know about that book, good mention!
I’m a big fan of Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt - i do appreciate Jay Farrar a bit more, but i’ve seen Wilco more than a few times live and they are true, for sure. -
A bit of 80s metal

Have a lot of conversations with my kids about 80’ Pop music.
A few weeks ago we talked about Erasure, Yazoo and Vince Clark.
Claimed that he was in a band they already knew…Depeche Mode. So we heard ‘Speak and Spell’ in the car together.
They liked it but for me it sounded restrained, lifeless and without power.
Pulled out this 12’ today. Here they are without Vince and full of energy.
The Live Side recorded at Hammersmith Odeon 1982. -

A thrifted early Gerry Mulligan 10 inch. Love the artwork on this sleeve.
