Driving through the ghost town of Carter, Wyoming on the way to Flaming Gorge Dam yesterday. Forest Fire nearby and major thunderstorm at night.

If you have the chance, hike up to Zapata falls on the way out. Really fun place that feels like it shouldn't be right next to dunes.

More adventurous stuff I have to do between 6AM and 9, while they are still sleeping

I recall this being super short and the hike ends by walking through the river to the base of the falls. Less than 1hr round trip iirc. But I completely understand needing to manage your time. Enjoy the trip!
