Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…

@goosehd guessing that’s his frame number
-
@choco Those suit you and a great shot overall
-
@goosehd that’s the frame number

@mclaincausey much appreciated!

Digging the latest releases! I am wanting a titanium optical frame next. I haven't worn my contacts (and correspondingly my JMM shades) in a long time because I am enjoying my acetates so much.
-
Sending off my pair of Balzac (hehe) to 1269 today, swapping the stock lighter blue lenses for some more classic G15. I think these are gonna look sick.
-
Trunk show in San Diego is coming up in a few weeks. Hopefully picking up a second pair of frames to swap between (Zephirin is on my radar)

I don't know if it's helpful at all to anyone, but someone else wanted photos of the green transitions in black fade Herbie's. It goes ~full dark, ~50% after sitting in the shade for a couple mins, and then somewhere in between over the light/shadow. Can really pickup the lens color in the bottom right of the last picture as the clear portion of the frame picks up the actual green color in the lens.
Just sent away a pair of taos in hickory to be fitted with the Zeiss version of this lens and can follow up if anyone finds interest in this.

@pechelman how do you like those transitions? I just got my first pair of JMM and had some prescription sunny lenses put in. Was on the fence about the transitions and decided to not go that route. Like the idea of the versatility. I’ve heard mixed reviews though.

Depends what you're looking for and what you're expecting @Mizmazzle . Personally, knowing the limitations and what I wanted from this pair, they're great and I'd buy them again tomorrow.
Know that most of them wont activate inside a car since the windows will block most of the UV which darkens the lens unless you get the "XtraActive" or one other model they make which is always dark and polarized. I wish the XtraActive's came in more colors and be aware those lighten more slowly and will remain like ~5-10% tinted (which I personally like).
The Generation 8's on the ones above get plenty dark to use as regular sunglasses when walking around outside, darken fast, and lighten pretty quick. The benefit I think almost no one talks about is that you'll never need to find a pocket, carry a case, or forget your sunglasses somewhere, because you can just leave them on your face.
Most likely, you wont be able to sell all of your sunglasses and just use a transition lens pair though. I think a lot of people expect or want them to do this and are disappointed. ymmv

@pechelman @Mizmazzle super appreciate this discussion.
I’m going to purchase a set of Clear and anti-glare Zeiss clear lenses… have yet to decide which frame they will go in.
Apparently Zeiss makes a clear lens that blocks a bunch of UV. TBD how my fair colored eyes can tolerated no tint while outdoors.
I’m planning to use these on the motorcycle. Early AM and day into night.
Will report back my findings.
