IHSH-331-BLK - 12oz Moleskin CPO Shirt - Black
-
I just ordered one of these in size large, and look forward to adding it to my small IH CPO collection. I might take Giles' suggestion and try the black Sharpie snap treatment.
I have the 18 oz. black overdye version from about a year ago. The black overdye CPO will be hard to top, but I look forward to this moleskin variant!

Anyone know how the sizing on this one compares to the selfedge variant?

My snap swap decision wasn't based on the selvedge ID,but for me,as much as I loved the brass snaps on the Olive 331,they didn't work for me on the black version. When they first made the Over dyed 178 the snaps ended up looking kind of silvery/pewtery which I would've loved on this shirt. Sometimes wish there was a different,other than brass,material,option for that iconic IH snap.
Hello, recently purchased the green and asked for black snaps to be put on. Did this decision work out well for you or did the marks not go away from the previous buttons that were removed? Thank you !

Great. Thank you! Looking forward to this one! You loving it? I’m wearing the self edge one as we speak. Very excited to see the difference in weight and fabric on this new version!
-
It really is like a suede. I figured that was how the Moleskin finish got it’s name. Mmmmmm. Substantial heavier/denser would you say?
-
There’s only a 2OZ difference in the fabric weights,and I’d be lying if I told you could feel/tell the difference. Don’t know if it’s my imagination but it feels like it’s less warm than I think I remember the other one feeling. I look forward to hearing your thoughts/observations as you’ll have them side by side.

Just washed this sensational shirt the second time. One of my favorites in spring, worn it a lot . Definitely underrated if you ask me . The moleskin is awesome to wear, heavy but soft and not too warm. And even it’s still very dark, there’s some fades noticeable at high wear areas.

looking good @Daniel-San
I've got the olive but struggling to put it into rotation. Curious if you've seen any shrinkage on this from the washings? -
@pechelman
no permanent shrinkage . just the normal shrink that comes with washing and stretch back within 1-2 hours wear. So no need to worry if you wash with low temperature. -
@Daniel-San Great pictures!! Do you think this shirt is thin enough to have a tighter p2p than your 292? I’m considering grabbing one a size down from my normal denim size
-
@Memphisakers
hard to tell mate.
it definitely feels thicker and much heavier than I expected for "only" 12oz. -
@Daniel-San well that makes me nervous. If ya feel like pulling measurements on your two and telling how they feel back to back it would definitely be helpful. I know everyone isn’t as nerdy about this stuff as I am, so if not I get it. There is only one place close to me that sells IH and they don’t have one for me to try on.

@Memphisakers
I have the 292 in size L , the 331 is size XL . I would say they are comparable besides the material of course. Think you can expect a little more stretch with the 331 . -
@Daniel-San That doesn’t really help. Ih shirts can vary by over an inch in the same size/same model… was kinda hoping you could measure the P2P of both and give me your impression and the measurements. I know that’s asking a lot. No worries

@Memphisakers
I've got the 293 and the 331 in olive in Large and X-Large, respectively.
The 331 for me is really only suitable to wear over another UHF, which is why I dont wear it a bunch. I find the fabric to drape and crease with less resistance and it has a bit more yield/stretch to it in comparison. The 293 I find breathes better as the moleskin is fairly hardfaced and tightly woven.edit: I also see your request for measurements and can check for you when I get home. Generally, from memory, the 331 is a about 1-1.5" wider in all dimensions and what feels to be about 2" longer in length iirc. It fits very similar to the Large Untucked overall.

@Memphisakers
ah ok did not understand that , sorry
no problem, can measure them tomorrow morning.
