My wife is partial to mezcal! I actually have not read either, but i'll take a look this week.
-
That’s super cool @Alex , I am too.
¡Dixeebe!
-
@steelydan spot near my house has a decent amount left over so I can take a look
Where are you located?
-
@mclaincausey have you been to La Doña? Cool little mezcal bar on my side of town. Had a pechuga there recently that was outstanding.
-
@Mizmazzle I went to it when it was Palenque and am a huge fan of Adelitas. I kept their lights on when I moved to Denver, and they educated me about mezcal when I was sitting at the bar every night.
Desperately wanna try Ni Tuyo, which is somehow affiliated with the same folks too, maybe the chef’s daughter.
-
@mclaincausey nice man. Adelitas is so freaking good. Their carne asada gets me all revved up.
-
@Mizmazzle it’s great. My favorite is the molcajete mixto (which includes carne asada).
-
@mclaincausey yeah those mocajetes are incredible. Bubbling, boiling, stone bowl of goodness.

Visiting one of my local record stores in a rush today.
Fifteen minutes before picking up my kids from school, I decided to visit the most flamboyant shop in town (smoking is allowed and two dogs are sitting behind the counter), because there was a parking place right in front the shop.Chatting with this guys for some years now and now knowing we visited the same dives in the late 80’; I must have mentioned something.
Me: Just looking. Have only a few minutes!
Them: We have it here... (Big grin and some barking of the dogs)
Me: ***…(overwhelmed)Story behind:
About 1987 we visited the first concert of a local punk band called ‘Phantoms of Future’.
Today to be a critical seen band and a recommend shop named Idiots Records. At this day’s we expected to be flooded in beer and loud music.
Jad Wio as an opener, only two persons on stage and the drums came from a tape machine!
They drove us mad!
Haven’t seen a lot of concerts as a 17 teen,
they blew my mind!!
Thought ‘Paint it black’ is originally from them.
After all this years, I have this on LP now!
Love this thread!! -
When I started my current job in sales I met with my 4 experienced colleagues to go over a number of things. One of them lives in Dortmund, so we met there. Item number 1 on my list for after-work activities: a visit to Idiot Records, where I was greeted by Sir Hannes, who immediately offered me a beer. Great place, especially if you're into metal and punk

Coming back to this quite often recently
