One of the few days I root for Liverpool.
Also, I watched this game on the Spanish channel which I will do quite often. Even if you dont know the language I highly recommend you try it if there's Spanish channels in your area (Mexican Spanish). The announcers are some of the best out there IMO and just hearing them scream GOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL is worth the price of admission. This was a perfect game to watch in Spanish.
Kudos to Liverpool.

Being a Liverpool fan myself, you can never say never until the whistle blows.

True story.
I’m enjoying all this winning-by-one-goal malarkey though. You could even argue that this game, like the Everton match and the Burnley match, are games we would have drawn last season. I thought our defence looked surprisingly decent for large parts of the game. Last 10 mins being the obvious exception.
-
I've got to say though that if there was about another 1-2 minutes of stoppage time I think this would have ended in a draw. Liverpool was hanging on for dear life at the end there. Either way, amazing game and so happy to see City get beat.

Looks like Sanchez to United is going to happen. Definitely an exciting signing for us but I wonder what this will mean for the likes of Martial and Lingard in regards to playing time. I'm sure they can all be worked in together and this will only add more depth to the squad but time will tell.
In other transfer news Goretzka has been swooped up by Bayern Munich which means United should pounce on snagging Vidal from the German giants. Imagine a 4-3-3 with Pogba, Matic, and Vidal in the midfield and Sanchez, Martial, and Lukaku/Zlatan/Lingard/take your pic up front. ???

Aubamayeng to Arsenal is also an interesting one. I would love to see him in the premier league and it would be a great signing for Arsenal. Of course I would much rather see him join United but they don't seem interested for whatever reason.

Perhaps they're interested, but they can see how Aubamayeng behaves here in Dortmund.
We have endured with peace all his escapades. But every infringement is one to many…... even for our a star striker.

Oh does he come with drama? I haven't followed his off field antics.

Reus is a guy I always wanted United to snag but somehow he's one that Dortmund has been able to hang on to. I'm really surprised he hasn't been snatched up by one of the Goliaths by now.
-
Reus is the "Shy Guy".
He has seen many of his friends eaten by the Goliaths.
Some are playing back here again (Kagawa- UK, Sahin- Spain, Götze-München)
Why should he leave? They love him here, even when he is not playing ;).I like Reus a lot. I'm not saying he should leave and actually I was kind of sad to see that champions league final squad from 2013 get broken up with some of the stars leaving for the Goliath clubs like you mentioned. It is interesting how a few have gone back though.
Dortmund kind of reminds me of Tottenham in a way in the sense that they will have some very talented players that they can't manage to hold on to.

Liverpool at its best again: first beating the league leader then losing to the bottom of the table in the next round. I know Karius didn't have much playtime at LFC but he's very stiff (and that's not what she said!), insecure and sloppy. I don't like Mignolet either but Loris is even worse. The club should really invest in a solid goalkeeper, I wonder why they didn't bid for Pickford last summer? A top-level defender wouldn't hurt either.

liverpool could definitely use a defender or two. van vijk was a good signing but he will not solve all their troubles.
anyway, on a seperate utd note, i don't think it was the right move signing sanchez. it's stupid to flex their muscles to city just for that. and i actually like miki and rate him quite highly… -
I never really thought of Xabi as a traditional DM. More of an all round CM and instigator. I’m thinking of a destroyer, protecting the back four and breaking up attacks. Mascherano was ridiculously good at it.
That being said, any team would be improved by an Alonso, and you’re right about the balance. I hope and expect that is something Keita will bring though.

Sanchez was a great signing IMO and is higher quality than Miki. Miki just wasn't performing consistently in his time at Utd and I'm not sad to see him go.
