Hey Guys. Not jumpin on this as I've already got too many Winter Jackets including another N1 unfortunately, with my work as a Mountain Guide. My main reason for posting is I see a few posts regarding re-waxing.
I've re-waxed many Jackets and Rucksacks etc, over the Years including my other Whipcord N1 and a couple of Heavy Carhartt Bartlett's during my Years in Guiding and I would suggest that a much better way to re-wax than Liquid Belstaff or Barbour is to use the Block Wax by either Fjallraven or Otter Wax. Rub this on by hand until well coated and then melt in with a Heat Gun. 2 Coats will be a plenty which will take a couple of hours max and the finished result will be better than the original in every way. I guarantee you! It's fantastic, easy to do and will provide an improved appearance and performance, even from new!! Best of luck Waxer's. Remember, "Wax On, Wax Off" Or in this case, "Wax On, Wax In" -
If you want size s to large they have some in stock on rivetandhide.com .Black only

In the pictures on the Rivet & Hide web site are they using a pre-production jacket for the photos? There is something wonky going on with the leading edge of the collar where it looks like the Alpaca fur is worn away. Can anyone in the Iron Heart crew speak to whether they are seeing this with the production jackets that are now shipping?
-
@AdamJ That would be great if you could check it out. If you look at the photos in the Rivet Hide listing, you can see on both sides, the collar appears to have fur missing all along the leading edge. Perhaps it is a camera artifact or something. I would love to hear your thoughts tomorrow.
BTW...I own two N1 Deck jackets (one oiled and one regular) so I am quite familiar with them. I would love to add the black oiled, but just wanted to double check with you guys first. I look forward to your reply...thanks!

We've still got some sizes Medium and Large available at brooklynclothing.com!
-
I liked better the greyish collar fur on the previous version ( non oil ) ... decisions ...
-
Is that it for this year ? No size left here or at rivet and hide.
Is there any stockist left in Europe ? Can we hope for some re-stock or it won't be before next year ?

Wow. These are selling quickly. I am between sizes and thought I might have a couple days to make a decision. Looked at the inventory mid-day yesterday and noticed the Large size had already sold out and there were only two available in XL. The sizing decision was made for me. I ordered the XL. Am very glad I decided to check yesterday otherwise I would have missed out.
I am really looking forward to the jacket.
To the IH team -- thank you for making such great products.

@alexdedalus Burg und Schild in Germany....

When deciding between sizes, if your shoulders have muscle on them go up - otherwise, if go with smaller size armpits will be too tight.
-
@WellWinn I agree with this 100%. I'm 6'3/190 and started with L but way too tight in the shoulder/pit area so I switched it XL. Slightly roomier for me in the body but still a slim/trim silhouette and the extra length frankly looks better too imo. Don't be afraid to size up guys!
-
@Evertonman well when you consider your size I think XL was the obvious choice large would have been pretty tight on a guy of your stature

I’m 6’2” 180 lbs and went with an XXL. It’s “roomie” in the body but I can easily fix the hem with the side adjusters. The shoulders and chest feel perfect.
I’m waiting on an XL just to compare
-
@Brandrea sizing is all down to personal taste and comfort, but I bet a large would look really good on you.
I’m 5’10”, 183lbs with square shoulders and a 42-43 chest and have both a XL and large. The XL is used for heavy layering (wool sweaters) on the really cold days and the large fits a UHF comfortably.
