IHSH-409-IB - 19oz Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo/Black
-
How's the handfeel of this denim compared to the lefty? From the pics it looks completely different, much softer, smoother, maybe a little looser from the way it's draping. Almost looks like the 18oz od to me but a bit more even/smoother faced? Curious for your impressions @Oaktavia whenever you get a chance. Looking rad though.
-
@Oaktavia Did you wear it to bed?
-
Was referring to the 27 hours you wore it originally...

It is much different than the 19oz Lefty. It is thicc, smooth and soft, yet rigid. The heaviness is true throughout the shirt and it almost reminds me of the Kersey fabric. This is because the diagonal weave is so wide. It is a bit hard to describe as it is unlike any other heavyweight denim I have come across.

@Oaktavia this think keeps looking better and better. You’ve really been changing my mind about indigo/black denims, I always thought they were “too blue”, but they get so much character.
-
@Oaktavia Mate that is incredible commitment to the fade. Mind blowing. How about indigo transfer on your sheets? You don't overheat?

I thought I replied to this but evidently not. Glad you like the fade progress. I have not noticed any indigo crocking/transfer to my sheets, but if it did it would not bother me. Our sheets are a blue/green anyway so it would be hard to tell. I overheat sometimes and when I do, I just take it off and go back to sleep. I usually stop wearing it to bed once the fades accelerate. My wife does not love it when I wear heavy denim shirts to bed so I try to wear it half the time or so before stopping altogether.

Man I believe it. My mrs would not be a fan. But it's a genius way to get those fades set in. My problem is I'd definitely overheat, especially in the summer here in LA.

@Mr-Linz overheating in heavy denim happens, it's just how you can deal with it mentally to try to overcome it. Or take it off and cool down for a bit. In waking life or sleep. I'm overly fixated on my denim fading process which is a result of hyperfixation which is an aspect of my diagnosed ADHD.
-
@Oaktavia I clearly need to commit harder. Very inspiring! I've been walking around in 21 oz jeans in the summer heat, but the shirt is so impressive/next level. Gonna try breaking in a new SBG CPO arriving tomo, you've inspired me to sweat into this bad boy.

Why does that sound a lot like myself …
@Oaktavia literally put myself through it to reap the rewards of fades but I love it . I’ve mentioned before everyone on the construction site in shorts and a T-shirt and I’ve got a pair of UHR and my Lefty on… all I get aren’t you hot in that ??? YEP
My Lefty now has the biggest salt patch on the back from battling on I’ve seamed to got used to it now so it’s not a problem wearing it in the ️..
Also love keep notes on my phone days worn , hours worn etc
Most probably a bit of OCD -
@Jcaz6996 I’m also an avid user of the notes on the iPhone for days worn, amount of washes etc Wife says I definitely have some OCD happening
-
@Jcaz6996 made me feel a bit less of a geek when I read your post.. I’m sure there are many of us

@JunkPants my word, definitely looking into this

@Mr-Linz hell yes dude, I will certainly be unnecessarily warm for the rest of the warm season. Same boat.
