Catch of the day [Fishing]
-
Fishing is one of those sports (like golf) I'd like to get into when i'm a bit older and don't live in a city
for now though i'll have to stick to:
-
Just started fly fishing last summer, and can't wait for classes to end and some free time to clear up to once again get in the swing of things.
One of my good friends and fishing buddies studies fish populations here in Michigan for a living, and has knowledge of some of the best spots in the state. Can't wait to get out and see where he takes me this year.

One of my favourite dive sites. The Marion, Andros, Bahamas…
The Marion was a large US Navy barge that sunk when trying to lift something too heavy when building one of the offshore submarine cable recovery houses...
This is a caterpillar which was on the deck of the Marion when she sank…

Just remembered, I have this album up on FB…

That is the sort of friend to have….Does he have a colleague who does the same in Andros in the Bahamas - I'm fly fishing there in 3 months - primarily for these...
Oh man, catching bone fish in the Bahamas sounds like a blast.
I wish he had colleagues doing work in areas like that, but the department he works with focuses mostly on Michigan and the surrounding states.
And great pics Giles. I'm gonna have to go through and see if I can remember where all my diving pictures are stored.

Thought this thread needed some love and attention…
This is what happens when a shark intervenes when playing a Bonefishh..
OK. So let's see what we have here….
Phillip picks us up at 07:45 sharp....
bens first bonefish…
Me playing a shark….
Ben playing same shark…
Said Shark…
Ben fights Barracuda
..The 'Cuda in question…
Walking the flats…
Nurse Sharks….See later Vid...
Mein Gott, I hope we can dodge that weather coming in…We didn't and got soaked through...
Very wet IHV-03 after we made it back to the dock…
It's nurse shark mating season here and we came across this "mating ball" of 4 male and 1 female (lucky girl)….
Today, I had my largest Bonefish of the trip thus far. It was my favourite style of fishing, super skinny water, large single fish cruising and feeding. Casting has to be pin point accurate without the line or the fly disturbing the surface when it lands. Any false move and the Bonefish are over the horizon…...Then you have to chase the fish to ensure that the line does not get abraded on the mangrove shoots....I had the camera in my pocket for the first part of this encounter, so join me half way through....
This is a big one, better give chase....
Nearly done…
Yep, that was worth running around for…
Holy ghost…
Bye bye….

I will be doing a two day fly fishing trip with my mom when I am back in California next week. No clue where or when. It is all up to her as she is the pro, not me. I will be taking a shit ton of images as she is not allowing me to bring my phone, computer or any other electronics besides a camera…
