What exactly was the thought process on that portrait?
Speaking of rainbows, here’s one that hit Telluride right after Hatfield brought in some rain at Ridefest several years back @Mizmazzle
-
@mclaincausey I was more amused by a clever fan of shoegaze editing the original portrait

@mclaincausey I was there!! I remember that Hatfield. How cool if we had become friends there?? Glad it happened eventually!! Let’s have some summer fun soon homie!
-
@Mizmazzle yeah the first night was underwhelming but that show was a heater. The RHM > Arleen with Eric McFadden

I’ve always been a knife collector and carrier. But since I’ve gotten into non-stretch pants, I’ve found the shirt pocket is better for my activity level. The problem is, it’s warming up and without an over shirt, I’ve been finding myself without a convenient blade on my person. How do yall knife-carrying folk get along with yer tough guy jeans? If I crouch I feel like I’ll bust something, either my knife or a seam.
-
@WhiskeySandwich Tighter jeans and I will belt carry. Looser jeans and they go into the pocket.
-
@goosehd ahh, belt huh…. Might be worth a try. I’ve been going looser and looser on fit tho
-
@WhiskeySandwich With 666’s, I always carry a fixed blade or a folder on the belt in various configurations in either cross draw, strong side, back carry, all depending on where I’m at or what I’m doing.
Looser jeans (634’s) and the folders always go in the right pocket…

How are 26" wheels on bicycles dying out?!
I just replaced my old steel frame bike (which was beyond repair) with a very well prices 26" globetrotter bike I got second hand. I don't know when I last had so much fun commuting and cruising around. It's nimble and quick; it basically rides like a very smooth comfortable 90s mountain bike. Moreover, how on earth can Schwalbe not produce the marathon XR anymore? Such a great tire.
Have a great weekend!

Kind of an oxymoron there
26s are ok on pavement but I'd never consider buying a new bike with those wheels to be honest. 27.5 and 29 really are better. The same argument happened to some extent when 26s replaced 24s and people were riding mullets 26 front / 24 rear bikes. Ostensibly those ride terribly by today's standards.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi Things go through cycles (no pun lol) 650B was all the rage for road bikes and randonneuring bikes now we are seeing 700C back in the spotlight, but just with wider tires for comfort. But if you want 26" tires Conti makes a bunch of excellent tires in that size..good luck!

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I ride a steel frame with a very hideous airwings seat post. That's so comfy!
Even as a commuter in the city the bike is really cool. Switching gears with the Rohloff hub at the traffic lights and dashing off with the small wheels is really fun.
-
@RobeOfTheMagi steel is real!
-
I kind of want a mullet (29 front / 27.5 rear). Why is that a mullet though and not a flock of seagulls?
-
Or a murder of crows ?
