@pechelman Touche. I had a difficult time trying to figure out where the conversations veered off course from the original question re: the overdyed flannel to the conversations that ensued in the random questions to which you seek an answer thread.
To make things easier for all of the participants involved, I moved the entire conversation to the random conversations thread.
This hopefully will be a better place to continue those discussions.

Since I never met a thread I didn't derail, maybe I should just hang out in here all the time.

@popvulture @WhiskeySandwich @Mister_Brue @Mizmazzle
Okay I chose the Untucked 17oz duck CPO for my main shirt this year. After seeing @twin's recent photos of his heavily faded 666 duck and how far he pushed his honeycombs, I was hugely inspired by his fades. I want to see if I can fade my Untucked to the level that shows 'combs and fade lines after heavy wear the same way denim does. So it'll be XHSib (starting Halloween), the 140 Type 1 and the Untucked for my pants, jacket and shirt favored faders this (school) year.
-
I loved catching up on all that, thanks guys @Oaktavia @popvulture @WhiskeySandwich it makes me happy that more people on this lovely planet of ours share the same brain as me and plan months into the future what they will be wearing ️
-
@Oaktavia Yes my man! Good choice. I’ll be picking one of these up next restock. Not a work shirt fan, but you know,: there are exceptions.
-
@Oaktavia oh yeah, damn, i see em now... I always feel like my Ducks will never fade, but it sure looks good well used. I'm wearing my 888D right now and have yet to wash. Gonna keep these going primarily rotating with my 21oz indigo. I'm def going for some tough fades on these ducks. I'm not super huge on high-contrast, but I'm going as high as possible on these - as mild as it may be. Psyched to see your work on that Untucked. Gonna be a good look man.
-
@goosehd Well done hoarding the rabble.
-
@DeeDee85 Def, its interesting to see a 'plan'. even a loose one. I try and pick an item or two to focus on or gravitate toward racking up wears on in a given season, but I keep a lot of wiggle room for variety.
-
No worries at all @Oaktavia i genuinely enjoyed reading about everyone’s “methods” @WhiskeySandwich I have been trying to concentrate on 1 pair of jeans, 2 or 3 shirts and 1 type iii through the warmer months and will switch to heavier stuff when it cools down. I’m going to put some miles into my kersey western this winter..
-
@DeeDee85 I'm def a fan of the kersey, i'd love to try that fabric, it looks amazing.
Also, I def look forward to colder times when i can double up on shirts, I love having a slimmer flannel under a denim shirt.
-
@WhiskeySandwich Hell yeah dude, let's push these ducks and fade 'em. Even 'high' contrast with the duck will be low compared to others, of course. It's a comfortable cut too, the work shirt CPO.
-
@Oaktavia LETS DO IT.
weird how i go for 'high' contrast on my low contrast fading ducks and low contrast on my high contrast fading iB. lol The iB just kinda do it anyway, I havent really been wearing them much at all since hitting 100 wears, cuz it got hot and had other pairs, but i'll probably be washing them about every handful of wears to wash them out.
-
@WhiskeySandwich hahaha right on, my pair of 21ib is low contrasty while also being high contrasty too. I dig em that way as well.

@Oaktavia interested to see that 189 after you give it some hell! Are you planning to wear this under the 140? Could be you get those interesting combs you're chasing and some cool indigo/grey crocking as well...
I am actually going to wear it over the 140 as an overshirt. The 140 has pretty slim arms, I don't like it too tight around my elbows.
-
@pechelman hah yes somehow it works out. Plus, the T1 cut is pretty close and cropped. It all works out somehow.
