@Mizmazzle No offer from Elon Musk to rescue you out of that cave?
-
Meeting up at a local (for them at least ) brewery with @EdH @doubletee and @Nocturama later today, and then have a Vietnamese food truck on.
I'll update as to how it compares to the real deal!
I've consciously avoided Vietnamese food in the UK in the past so not be disappointed, but I have high hopes for this one after checking out their website

@T4920 I’m lucky enough to have one of my sons friends at school who is Vietnamese and the food parcels we get once a week and even more are amazing
I’m torn between Vietnamese or Thai for my favourite cuisineMy wife by birth is Indonesian but came to OZ at 3 months old so unfortunately can’t cook for shit in terms of Asian food
-
@Brian I think Thai takes the number one spot for me, that's why I go back there year after year. Khao Soi is my absolute favourite meal in the world, and the fact you can find on every street corner in Chiang Mai for about £2 including a beer makes the 30 hour round trip so worth it!
I've been to every South East Asian country apart from Myanmar, but Indonesian food was the only cuisine I didn't find particularly memorable.
My most memorable experience food-wise out there was buying a couple of Balut Eggs down some back alley in Cambodia, and physically not being able to put it in my mouth!
The German guy I was with chowed his down like it was nothing, but I was so repulsed by the look/smell of it that my body and mind went into self-preservation mood and i just couldn't bring myself to try it, as much as I usually pride myself on being adventurous with food haha...
@Mizmazzle you could probably find one in Vietnam if you were so inclined...

@T4920 can’t wait

Thanks for all the comments, fellas. We are absolutely loving it here. Phong Nha was really special. We arrived to Ninh Binh Trang An a few days ago. Another epic slice of beauty in this place!!
Our favorite dog friend. He led us on a hike around the countryside and chilled with us while around our homestay.
Some of my fave shots from the area:

We’ve been in Vietnam a little over two weeks at this point. We landed in Da Nang way back at the beginning of this trip. At the end of the Da Nang leg we wanted to ride over the Hai Van Pass by motorbike. We found a place to rent the bikes, jumped in the Grab car and headed to start our moto journey. When we arrived to the bike rental place we jumped out super excited. Once inside we started filling out the paperwork for the bike and the horrific realization came crashing down on me…my cherished 33B had been left in the car, which had already left!!
This was my very first IH piece and had traveled all over the world with me ever since. My heart sank and a crushing feeling of sadness flooded over me. My shirt just drove off in the back of the car into the chaotic city of Vietnam. I literally almost started crying.
Morgan tried calling the Grab company to connect with the driver. The features on the app weren’t working. Our bike was ready and we had to leave asap. I was once so excited for this part of the trip and now I was just pissed at myself for not double checking the seat before we got out.
The owner of the rental company said he would try and get ahold of the company and asked what time we’d be back. Sadly I said, we won’t be back. We are moving on to another city.
Fast forward two weeks and we arrived to Hanoi at the end of our trip. So many wonderful things had happened and the people of this country have treated us like royalty. But I was still carrying around the feeling of sadness and loss from my 33B. We arrived to our final hotel of the trip and upon checking in this is waiting for me….
I couldn’t freaking believe it!!! The owner of the rental company had tracked down the driver and recovered my shirt!!! He sent it to my hotel for me and when I arrived….BOOM!!!
He saw how distraught I was and I conveyed how special this shirt was to me and he made sure I got it back!!! I freaking LOVE the people of this country!!!

@Mizmazzle Wow, that is absolutely fantastic. Will probably make this shirt and trip even more special to you
