Hard Drinkers, Lets Drink Hard (Spirits, Liquors and Cocktails)

Going back through and saw this, I bought my bottle almost 10 years ago. if I remember correctly a killer low price for a 21 year. Not to mention so good…
-
@northsouthdenimguy That's looks to be a really nice bottle, 21yo Balvenie is going to be great let alone a port finish version. hate to think what that might cost now?
I am entering the ballot at my local whisky shop to try and pick up a bottle of the latest Springbank 10 yo Amontillado finish, wish me luck, I think they only have 6 bottles to sell, goodness knows how many people will enter the ballot.
-
@northsouthdenimguy A quick google shows that the 21yo port finish Balvenie is selling at cheapest 220 GBP (280 USD).
-
These should keep me amused over Christmas
Left to Right:
Daftmill 2011 winter batch
Indy Ardnamurcham 5yo, peated PX finish
SB 18
SB 12 cask strength
SB 15

I’ve had that bottle for years now too like the other 21. One of the few we did not decimate in 2020. Occasionally, having a drink at home, but trying not to overdo it, especially on the more expensive harder stuff to get.
Definitely not a collector but I like to pick up interesting stuff or just have it for when people come over…
-
@northsouthdenimguy That is a fantastic looking collection. Always nice to be able to offer some guests some good choices. I do tend to keep the super rare stuff at the back of the cupboard away from public consumption.
I purchased a cheap bottle of Jameson's specifically for my Brother in law who likes an Irish coffee occasionally. Throwing a nice single malt into a coffee drink upset me somewhat so the Jameson's bottle was procured.

Booker’s with my candied pecans

You haven’t lived until you pour a 21 year scotch and make a “Jack and Coke”. It’s possible that I may have done this once or twice in a pinch…
-
I rather enjoy being dead
-
To be fair, the thought of Coke even without mixers is off putting to me. I just don’t like sodas. I grew up on the stuff but can’t abide it now.
-
I hear you, sometimes a necessary evil when all out of "questionable" liqour to feed unwanted guests with.
-
Definitely. With liquor or clothing/boots although I do like a good bit of all of it, I don’t take any of it too seriously…
-
holy crab , this is hard stuff 60% but surprisingly good to drink …..
-
What's that like @Daniel-San ?
Tried to do a bit of searching and maybe it sounds a bit like chartreuse?
-
Some Mead to warm up
-
@pechelman
it’s a liquor/ booze . but the absolutely top level with 60% alcohol. The bottle is made of some kind of stone stuff as it’s so strong
The uncle of my wife always has it when celebrating his birthday. -
@pechelman Should be Jaegermeister style, just a lot stronger.
-
Had this guy and enjoyed it. I really love their 16 year though. Feel like it’s a good staple and great price/performance.
-
@mclaincausey How does it compare to the 16? I buy a bottle of the 16 every year around this time, and I've been curious about the 11.
